  1. Unfortunately, I really like the Blue Knights, but this show just isn't doing anything for me yet. I've seen it live-- not just videos. Maybe it's because the show isn't fully complete yet. I'm not sure why the Blue Knights are okay with being so far behind many of the other corps. People are paying money to see their show, and many people I've spoken to are very disappointed in the Blue Knights because since their show isn't even remotely done, no one understands the full extent of what they are trying to say. Now, I know the Blue Knights don't really care about what a few audience members think, and I understand that they are more concerned with how the final product in August connects with folks, and I get that. Though, I just don't think it would be worth it for me to put out a product that is so under-developed at the beginning of the season that not many people understand it. Lots of work to do, Blue Knights.......
  2. I imagine he is talking about the live semi-finals at Lucas Oil Stadium, but I could be mistaken.... Anyway, to the original poster: I know they do a dinner break, but I have no times-- sorry. Hopefully someone out there has a copy of the times from semi finals last year.
  3. I am loving the treatment of Pure Imagination from SCV this year, from what I hear in a video from Stanford on Saturday. The show overall is absolutely fantastic, but I think this slower piece in the middle is just perfect. It's neat what the percussion is doing underneath with the rhythmic pulse. I can't tell what it is though-- it ALMOST sounds likes some sort of "chanting". It's cool. Soloist sounds just stunning. It's nice to see electronics used in a way that you can still hear that the musician is creating a great sound. My ONLY complaint is that I wish the full corps played the melody a little longer when they add in from the back right of the field. Would love to hear the final full chord extended a bit more. Loving SCV this summer!
  4. Honestly, all of these teasers are getting REALLY annoying. Not because I'm angry that the uniform hasn't been revealed, I'm just tired of seeing teaser after teaser. The SCV snapchat literally just had 50 seconds of snaps saying "flags are ready!" "Horns are ready!" "Drums are ready!" "Pit is ready!" Really, SCV? Just do the #### thing.
  5. Wow, diva much? You've been complaining about the response you got for the last ten pages. YES- we all are aware you are unhappy with the response you got, but give it a REST. Move on and spare the rest of us from your incessant complaining.
  6. I disagree. Sounds like you are grasping for straws here. Phantom's show is definitely muddled. I acknowledge that they've made changes but the pacing and design is not always clear. Blue Knights has a clear design. Thanks for pointing out that BK is performing at a higher level, but I also think their source material and design is at a higher level as well, and it seems most of the drum corps community would agree with that this year.
  7. Very true, loving the "Blue" corps this year
  8. PR 83.15 Cavaliers 84.55 Bluecoats 85.4 SCV 86.6 CC 86.85 Cadets 87.9 Blue Devils 88.9
  9. I've seen a LOT worse for male colorguard members.
  10. Awesome! I am driving 4 hours from western Colorado to see the show.... Haven't been to the Denver drum corps show in 15 years! I just have to go though... the Blue Knights were in my town earlier this summer to give a clinic/performance for the students/town and I am so excited to see them again. Seems as if this year is a great year for the Blue Knights! Definitely one of the best Blue Knights in recent years from what I am hearing. I wish more of the "top" corps were at this show. This stadium is one of the best in DCI and I'm not sure why more corps don't try to swing out to Denver.
  11. I agree with you. Not that these are not great drum corps that we are talking about or that creativity just to be different is always a good thing... I just wonder if the top drum corps should be taking more risks since... well, they can...? This is why I have never been anti-BD like a lot of other people are. Sure, they are not always my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the creativity that they are trying to bring to the table.
  12. Anyone interested in the Ogden show this evening? The west coast tour has been pretty quiet the last few days. Some cool storylines that fit with the east coast corps... Where will SCV stack up? Will Blue Knights keep surging? Will Crossmem be top 12? Anyways, scores should post soon. Here are the corps that performed: Listed in reverse order of performance. Blue Knights - Denver, CO Santa Clara Vanguard - Santa Clara, CA Oregon Crusaders - Portland, OR Pacific Crest - Diamond Bar, CA The Academy - Tempe, AZ Crossmen - San Antonio, TX Cascades - Seattle, WA Impulse - Buena Park, CA
  13. I know that BK is finishing their closer (maybe they've already finished) but don't think they will play it today.
