I took a look at October 5th as an example. USBands is hosting Yamaha Cup at MetLife, while BOA has a show at the University of Maryland. I count nine NJ Open class bands choosing the BOA show instead of the Yamaha Cup. Some NJ Open Class bands also seem to be forgoing USBands Nationals in November.

If BD finishes first tomorrow night, this could the first time you can say, "They're not BLOOING, they're BOOING" -

I've had better luck with the Amazon FireStick. I think right now they're on sale at Target for $15 -
You're just now realizing the disorganization extends beyond GH? :P I'm sure the Alumni Corps was well intentioned, but as Terri mentioned, it requires significant effort to coordinate.

Yep. I wouldn't say "messed up". You could see flattened grass left from moving the Cavaliers' tower on/off the field, which probably disappear in a day or two. But it was only going to get worse with the amount of props in the final 3 shows (especially with all the movement of the Cadets stairs!). I think the stadium staff forces a standstill EVEN on a completely dry night; they must be adamant of maintaining putting green like pitch conditions for soccer. The weather (brief light shower earlier in the day) allowed DCI and YEA a cop out; as other have mentioned, outside the stadium the parking lots and fields were completely dry. Last year's show, on a hot dry night, Talen didn't allow tarps and supposedly they were unhappy with marks left by Boston's props. It's time to find a new venue because I don't see corps getting rid of the props and tarps. -

Yes. I've been a parent-volunteer for my kids HS band who've performed at USBands NJ Open Class Championships. I have moved battery (marimbas, gongs and the like) as well as and props in and out of the stadium. They'd have to close River Road to accommodate the trucks. There is ample parking north of the stadium if no other events are occurring; these are all issues that could be mitigated or managed in advance with foresight. I'd like to think the new YEA folks would be up to the task. At least having this at Rutgers the audience would assured that they'd get to see the #### show. -

I'm thinking back to last season when BAC had the compass prop that they spun. I spoke with someone after the show who speculated that perhaps Talen charged BAC with damages last year? -

Agree. The weather is a cop out. It rained earlier in the day for maybe 15 minutes? The grounds crew was fussy last year too -- I remember PR and BAC performed their shows without the tarps. Next year this show needs to be moved to UDel or Rutgers. -

NO - Boston came out and the announcer said “after consultation with Drum Corps International and Talen Energy Stadium staff, the final 3 performances will be standstill.” IT’S NOT RAINING -

Is the standstill because of weather or because the Talen officials vetoed the props? -

How do the Cadets right the ship?

Side by Side is the first show that comes to mind if you are implying performing while on a vertical prop -
I don't think it's a bad thing either. I simply found the timing interesting; I'm confident this decision was made weeks ago. I don't know what was the size of turnout for the "Music Is Cool" clinic held a few weeks ago before the MetLife show.

I aged out 30+ years ago. I'm assuming I got the email because I paid $150 for my child to attend to the November 2018 camp to audition for Cadets2. The corps was disbanded three days later. Another example of poor timing?

Having now seen Cadets multiple times and Blue Knights for the first time tonight, I think the Blue Knights show is better both in design and performance. -

If the reports were true about the number of those who auditioned for CG, this will help in recruiting. -
Yep. i understand there are more than a few former C2 members who wanted to remain in DCA and have found a new home with the Bucs.
