It is a shame that musically, Crown didn't quite get the credit for what they were doing in EVERY phrase of the music. So much shaping and nuance to everything they do! Easily the most schooled brass section on the field .... I also think that Crown is a victim of their own success. They have spoiled us as listeners, and have in a way, desensitized us to unbelievable playing. BD might make things "look" easy, but I think Crown makes things "sound" easy. Just a fantastic corps this year, and an amazing organization.

I remember Cavies falling all over the place when that happened. I remember seeing pics of BD looking like they had just been punched in the gut ..... weren't they undefeated up until that point? Anything else happen?

I don't think so ..... I bet you'd be surprised at who is appreciative of this show.

Not a great spot for Bluecoats ..... Let's hope the judges will be able to manage numbers well. It will certainly help in keeping the hype on the short road left to Indy.

It has nothing to do with a generation gap. It has to do with taste. Some people like the audio clips, some don't at all. It might "fit" the show for you, but not others. Same with the use of electronics in the Bluecoats ..... Some buy it, some don't. For instance, I do like the way Bluecoats have incorporated synth sounds into their show ..... But don't care for all of the narration in the Cadets show. I don't care for ANY of the thunderous goo, although many have fixed these issues over the last couple of years.Please don't bring generation gap into the fold. Thanks!

Good luck hearing the ending to Bluecoats show! That crowd's gonna be loud! All there in attendance are certainly in for something special!

In my eyes, they are the best at this. I don't know if it's really all about Todd Ryan, but they've pretty much perfected it. I did see clips of them doing exercises on the jazz run while playing long tones VERY early in the season.
