  1. Okay...time to have a smoke. (I'm fine with missing this Madison JABOM/M)
  2. Troopers' music is just as good as it was at DATR. The sound effects are a nice addition. But they really do need to get their lines straight when they march.
  3. Other than not liking their arrangement of Nights In White Satin (it should have been the ballad), not a bad show from the Colts.
  4. Year in, year out...Academy has the classiest uniforms.
  5. I liked this show live at DATR and I like it even more now. They've tightened up their performance a lot. (and that "whip work" is pretty cool, too...hehe)
  6. I like Mandarin's guard work. I wonder who noticed the central figure in white changed from one member to another?
  7. Now that Genesis show is my kind of show. No JABOM/M here, folks!
  8. http://ascendperformingarts.org/blue-knights-announce-2016-show-the-great-event/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O46xvoTjn4
  9. I didn't realize how many shows I HAVEN'T seen until I looked at that list, so I chose the few I've seen that I like the most. I'll be watching DCI Live! Saturday, so I'm sure my list will change. So it goes...
  10. After the last couple of years, I'm thinking Phantom is getting weary of BK.
  11. I'm not a musician, but my son plays horn. He marched in 2012 and 2014 with BK. His professor told him just before his first year that he was making a mistake to march with the mello...that it would ruin his horn playing. He marched anyway. After DCI season he was the only one selected out of his class to be a horn apprentice for our local symphony orchestra (a paying gig). Maybe it varies by corps and by the member, but my son is still a very good horn player. His experience with BK seemed to have helped him more than hurt him.
  12. Most likely surge will be BK. They have been bouncing around at least two places below where they should be because of an incomplete show. I think they'll end up at least 2 places higher than they are in now...maybe even three...once they get their complete show on the field and get it tweaked and get it clean. Second most likely will be Cadets. They have the best chance of pushing Crown or Bluecoats out of the top 3.
  13. I think BK is going to connect 2014, 2015 and 2016 in some way during their closer. Perhaps a medley of each year's closer? In any case, as has been said...what we see in Indy Weekend is going to be much different that what we've seen to date.
  14. One thing to keep in mind at the point where they play the sonata backwards...according to the poem, that is the point that the universe, having been destroyed, is being re-created. That is the point when everything moves toward the "good ending".
  15. You can see last night's show here: https://www.periscope.tv/mjd1128/1YqGowqQbAjGv Or here: https://twitter.com/corpsscopes
  16. Can we safely say that this will be the top 8 at finals? (not necessarily in this order)
  17. It's no big deal. Everyone's been looking for an excuse to rag on BK after their last two shows. The delay getting the full show on the field this year gave them the perfect excuse.
  18. They didn't use it at DATR because of the natural grass field.
  19. BK does their share of run and gunning...especially in their closers. Certainly more than some other corps I could mention.
  20. I like variety, but if given the choice for entertainment value I'd choose the "story" show over the JABOM/M show.
  21. Not that I have any experience with it (I never get that stressed), but if you are in WY take a drive south into CO. You can buy legal marijuana...and I've heard it's good stuff for calming people down. If that's not your style, then I would suggest seeing your local herbologist for a chill pill.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if that's their plan, but if so, that is quite an audacious move. It might work well...it very well could backfire.
  23. Mile High has had the clear bag policy for years...even at DATR events.
