  1. I think it might be interesting to see a corps with a Poppycock designed costume!
  2. And I will hear that first note ... live in Detroit on June 20!
  3. More like arrogant little ####s! šŸ˜‚
  4. I know ... I rolled my eyes pretty hard at that bit of reasoning. When I marched eons ago, 27th was having problems with the very end of Danny Boy (we tried to slide the entire company front after rotating it). It was pretty messy. So some of us in the corps talked about what we would do to fix the problem. We didnā€™t moan about how that part of the show was being criticized. We knew there was a problem and we thought we knew better than the program coordinator. In the end, the problem was fixed not by the members but by the show designer ā€” George Zingali. No one is above criticism.
  5. It was funny to me that when I was listening to Marching Round Tableā€™s podcast about expressing opinions, I was taking one of my dogs to the vet to have her anal glands expressed. Sometimes opinions and dogs can be smelly.
  6. Naaaaaa, I am a big Bloo fan and it doesnā€™t bother me one whit.
  7. Whew boy ... so I listened to Marching Roundtableā€™s podcast #805. I have waited more than the recommended ten minutes after I formed an opinion to start composing this post. I believe Tim and Byron have good intentions in speaking out about harsh or negative opinions about show design. However, I cringed when Byron said some of these opinions should not be expressed. In context, he was referring to mean spirited, uneducated opinions, but still, I found that troubling. (For full context, I will refer you to about 17:25 of the podcast.) And I bristle at the notion that we are uneducated. Many of us have been involved in the design process at various points of our lives. They certainly empathized with the show designers who put their work on the field which makes them vulnerable. On the other hand being vulnerable makes them vulnerable to criticism, which is what happens on social media and other podcasts. It is the nature of things. Personally, I try to stay positive. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes I get irritated about some comments, but I do not agree with the idea of censoring others which I think is what this podcast is advocating.
  8. I agree. Yes, they are snarky, but I like snark. They give honest opinions with a sense of humor and they welcome criticism, even if it is ā€œtedious.ā€ I am perfectly fine with them.
  9. Terri ... you're up! (Iā€™ll listen to it tomorrow.)
  10. I have been perfectly fine with your commentary on DCAK.
  11. I was thinking of adding your definition ā€œstanding about on propsā€ as an alternate meaning to the term ā€œpropped up,ā€ but if someone wants to use the more common definition, they are free to do so.
  12. I think I would go with the term ā€œpropped up.ā€
  13. Trust me ... anything Terri (and Jim) would put out would make the Drunk Corps International folks blush!
  14. Didnā€™t BAC remark about this very phenomenon until 2017? Situations can change.
  15. please ... Please ... PLEASE! Letā€™s not exhume the grave of this beaten horse again!
  16. I will be checking them out Friday. I am only hearing great things. Bloo is going to be Bloo this season!
  17. Talk to my daughter ... according to her we are on something like the fourth wave. Iā€™m a guy, so I just smile and nod.
  18. I wonder if in ear monitors would be practical for the snare line or even if they would help.
