Hey...my Cavalier plays baritone/trombone...fine by me! ( I kid as well ..... )

Cavaliers staff just posted that "big things are coming soon for 2018 for Cavaliers Brass". Expect an announcement soon.

Yea, I've heard this. He just wants the opportunity to get in extra work in his dorm in late hours. What I can't figure out is if a trombone mute will also work with baritone. In a very short period of time he'll be prepping Cavaliers audition work while also having a full plate at school on trombone.

Does anyone here have hands-on experience with silent brass systems for marching baritones? My son wants one for his trombone at college, and I'm curious if the same unit will work with a baritone when he gets back into DCI audition season.

With the retention I'm hearing about from Cavaliers MM's and staff...I don't see them tumbling down to 7. Lots of good post-season vibe coming out of Rosemont.

Other than Cavaliers, which of course was my favorite because of that whole "being a parent" thing, my list for entertainment value was: 1. Boston Crusaders 2. Blue Devils 3. SCV 4. Colts 5. Crown

Pretty sure that Atlanta's new soccer team, which tied up Grant Field this year and pushed the DCI show to McEachern High School, will be in the new Mercedes Benz stadium next summer. If so, I hope Georgia Tech does get the show. I like outdoor shows better anyway ( unless of course it's raining).

And there aren't "Jim Ott" clones lining up to the leave the Blue Devils to join staff with a corps ranked in the low teens any more. No mystery what happened to Spirit in 78-80.

What is the "modern era"? Spirit of Atlanta jumped from 23rd in 1977 to 6th in 1978.

Honestly, he's probably more oblivious to it than I am! I'm a competitive old cuss! But yes...I do think that would put a smile on his face should it transpire.
