  1. My only request of FLO is to schedule rebroadcasts, not just the next day, but also at a time more reasonable for east coast viewers..At least during the week...The west coast shows start late for us easterners and so do the rebroadcasts...So if anyone at FLO is listening, help this dinosaur survive the summer..peace
  2. Reading the posts on corps not the Cadets, I must say that the Cadets are in an enviable position as we enter the meat and potatoes of the schedule...I say this because the drama associated with the Cadets, doesn't seem to be evident..The uniform issue is moot and their scores are rising with each performance...This bodes well for the remainder of the season and for future Cadet recruitment..With a sincere appeal to alums, it appears that the Cadets are trying to do the right thing while remaining competitive..I'm not around the corps everyday so my observation may seem naive, but it feels good to see a Cadet show I can be proud of....peace
  3. Thanks again to the( daring) You Tube poster who posted the Cadets Broken Arrow show...sound was inconsistent but any viewing of this show and the subtle changes is so encouraging...Again, keep pushing Cadets...We got your back!
  4. The"ONE WHO KNOWS" is on point...The show just needs cleaning and possibly some transitional material...Though they are not as prop heavy as the Mandarins, they have just enough drum corps to overcome that obstacle imo...keep improving two points a show; should make San Antonio very interesting...peace
  5. Excuse me Jeff... ( quiet sob)..I get a tad emotional when I see Hy's name...He was my ONLY horn instructor..thanks for the memory...peace
  6. Colts are this close to the Blue Stars? This season is getting even more interesting...I am a fan of this production and look forward to it getting better..Keep pushing!
  7. I found the Tupelo show on YT..had to keep looking for a bit but eventually it came up.. really good sound and the view from the stands was excellent..hope it's still up!
  8. Just finished watching the Tupelo show and I must say that the improvement was obvious...Still a lot of work to be done but I'm seeing the Cadets more clearly...They seem to move with purpose and the sound (whew) blew away an otherwise unsuspecting audience..Having seen this performance, I reaffirm my belief that their musical choices are far and away the most accessible drum corps music...Movement and marching are getting better and with some cleaning, PR may look into the rearview mirror and see CADETS closing fast..IMO...peace
  9. With all of the concern over placement and show development, I am pleased to see the Cadets achieving in both categories..BTW was yesterday's win in Tupelo, their first first place in a while? My memory says yes, but I am a senior citizen..lol
  10. I remember showing up to (contests), now called shows, not knowing what to expect other than good music and good marching...I don't know when it became mandatory to " theme" shows, but I can see why people become disenchanted with the modernity, when it seems to pigeon hole a corps to a theme that they MUST adhere to for 11 to 13 minutes...But why?...Sometimes, all we want is to be entertained!..If that includes a theme, so be it, but if a corps wants to entertain and still meet the scoring criteria, must there be a theme?...If Seinfeld could last nine years as" the show about nothing" and maintain it's popularity, could a corps similarly do a show about nothing and meet the scoring criteria, if performed well?BTW, I don't know if corps have to have a theme in place before the season starts..If they do , I apologize for my ignorance..peace
  11. To quote Gil Scott Heron: " What is has, will surely last, but is that jazz?"
  12. After a week off, I would have expected a higher score...The music part is fine, but after seeing what the other corps are doing with uniforms and props, I get the impression that the Cadets are financially incapable of competing with the top tier corps; No shade on the Cadets because either you have the resources or you don't...So, if DCI is rewarding corps for these expenditures, the Cadets may fall to 8th or 9th by finals..Musically,the Cadets have the most entertaining show imo, but it gets lost in the movement of props that look like they were made yesterday and poorly at that..This from a Cadet supporter of 43 years...peace
  13. Music City is one of several corps that may not make finals, but I find thoroughly entertaining...They should be proud of the product they have put on the field and look forward to a successful season( Don't worry about the scores)...Just keep improving..The scores will come...peace
  14. This program is so unpredictable and eccentric that I love it!,,I can always count on Bloo to not only entertain but move the activity to another level...The various rhythmic themes spread out over a football field and performed by marchers who look like they're having fun is Bloo's trademark...So Bravo and continued success..peace
  15. I watched the Bluecoats show for the second time and I amend my previous post by saying:'' The Bluecoats are playing their ##### off "Still love Cadets but BC is sooooooGood !
  16. My favorite show musically is the Cadets' hands down...Since marching is no longer given priority over dancing/body movement etc., my opinion on movement and props will be reserved for future reference...The big Four (BC, BD, Crown and BAC) have amazing field presence and I expect a close race through finals...With PR and Mandarins ever improving, this feels like an anything can happen year...peace
  17. Thank you Cadets...You didn't disappoint ..Your repertoire is Drum Corps at it's best..And I look forward to you guys getting better week by week,,BTW you're closer to BAC than 4 points in my opinion.
  18. Okay, where's the illegal you tube video of yesterday's show...I NEED TO SEE CADETS ASAP..Hoping tonight's show does not get rained out...hearing good things so far..peace
  19. Really enjoyed last evening's show...Again, FLO did a good job producing the audio/visual and the corps performed with enthusiasm...I just thought that the spread between 6th and 4th was too wide..imo...peace
  20. I think worth mentioning is the FLO production of this event...I've been critical before, as many have, but this was the best presentation audio/visual I've experienced since I signed up in 2017..peace
  21. The ballad will bring tears by season's end...if not sooner..peace
