  1. This was the show that made my son want to march Scouts last season.
  2. Love how that clip shows the battery during the percussion feature for all of .1 seconds.
  3. Slightly unrelated, I came through Wash Dulles airport yesterday coming home from South Africa and one of the TSA agents noticed my partner's Scouts hoodie (my son marched this year). He said he'd marched Cavaliers, judging by his age I'd say late 90s, early 00s. He said something about drum corps family as we walked through the scanner and it was probably one of the best security screenings I've had in recent memory. 🥲
  4. Maybe would have made a better prop for Scouts "Black Hole Sun" show than the cat ball?
  5. Not so much a music/design concept, but this approach would definitely bring a lot of engagement... https://apnews.com/article/alabama-birmingham-band-director-tased-arrested-d5700475e63b76272caa5fd64d641cd2
  6. I don't see how grass would work in a place like Lucas Oil Stadium.
  7. There is an old picture somewhere of me wearing a Star of Indiana shirt. No idea what became of it...
  8. Fun fact: The Scouts are rehearsing at the old Central State Hospital site, formerly Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_State_Hospital_(Indiana)
  9. Really dug this as well. A crazy experiment, but admirable in its intent.
  10. Side question - are there no retreats for prelims/semis? Surprisingly haven't been to either, after all these years.
  11. [points to username] specifically this moment:
  12. Center snare for BAC 2023, a girl, is tough as nails. My own instructor way back in the day came from the SCV snare line the year they won with Phantom of the Opera, and she obliterated our ##### into a championship battery when all was said and done. Both of them could have rocked an MS aussie harder than most dudes.
  13. I would imagine they're at a point where they can afford a Boerma or a Sacktig, but not both at the same time.
