  1. Once upon a time there was a local "Class A" parade corps from a small town in Ohio... 38 years of Bluecoats History. Ups and Downs, financial problems, TWO inactive seasons, identity crisis, staff changes (good and not so good) making finals consistently a quality product then dropping out of finals - then clawing their way back and building ever since. Consistent growth all the way to maturity - top to bottom. A World Class organization - and now finally some much deserved respect. How many other drum corps have come and gone in the past 38 years?? They made it. Congrats to the entire Bluecoats family - present and past! Bring on 2011.
  2. no seriously... when are the panels determined? Who is in the know?! Mr. Boo?

  4. Really? No one has mentioned 82 Phantom yet? That opening statement was SUPER powerful and ripped my face off from the first note.
  5. Best review of the season. Thanks Jeff.
  6. True. Running around randomly? mirrors? chairs? doors? Very creative and new. I prefer the marching, drilling, playing, drumming, spinning. Ya know? Drum corps? Go Bluecoats
  7. I remember LOTS of years where making it onto the field was considered a successful season in Canton. I couldn't be more proud. What a season - no matter what happens. But I want to win and I think they could. With the right performance and the right panel anything can happen during Finals week.
  8. 86 Blue Devils should replace one of those... maybe it should be top 6
  9. I think there was a series of velcro flaps that each had an inside color that would be switched through out the show. Ahead of it's time. VERY cool effect because it could be altered SO smoothly.
  10. Bluecoats drum major Eric Humbert Story is celebrating his 6th Massillon show tonight - - and his last. The Massillon show is a huge thing for Bluecoats ageouts.
  11. He must be talking about the corps who has been a consistent finalist since 1987. With the exception of 1999 (13th place) thats' 23 of the last 24 years. This is exciting for us. There are alums coming out of the woodwork from when the corps was an A Class/parade corps in the 1970s. Fever pitch BLUEness is setting in and it's NOT a shock to us. Just exciting! The growth of the Bluecoats organization is astounding. Ups and downs? Of course. Consistent long term growth. Finding the right people to take the corps to the next step. I wonder how many drum corps who started out like the Bluecoats - just a small town corps - have folded since 1972? "The Future is Now"
  12. The Massillon show is going to be EPIC. That crowd is going to be LOUD in that stadium. The corps should bring the house down AND win that show for the first time... EVER! GO BLOOOOO!
  13. High Cam only tonight - Atlanta is Multi Cam
  14. Webcast link is up and running. you guys find it?
  15. I don't think it's "prying" to ask - i don't think it's a secret - but I don't think I could completely explain it by typing. It goes back to an event on Bluecoats 2002 tour. A school in Wichita. A new security system in the school went off... over and over and over for like 2 or 3 hours. It had a repeated a voice message over the PA system. "Seven, Zero, Nine". It was the most annoying thing you've ever heard. Some kind of code i guess. It subsequently became a metaphor for ANYthing that was an emergency. "Get your stuff off the busses! 709!" Then it started to mean anything that was "serious". "Tomorrow is 709 in Murfreesboro". Then it became anything "awesome". "That tenor break is totally 709!" Then it just became ANYthing. "This potato casserole is 709". You know how tour is - something like that sticks with you and becomes a "hype". I am HYPED right now. Go BLOOO 7 - 0 - 9
  16. Whoever you are you are AWESOME for having 709 as a screen name. You are SO 709 for having it. PM me and tell me who you are. I must friend you on Facebook. I still use 709 all the time. People think I'm crazy. and to stay on topic. A show doesn't NEED to have a story line. Not every show is a friggin opera. so there. 7 0 9
  17. BLOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. DCI Gadsden presented by Alabama Battle of the Brass Place Corps Score World Class 1 Bluecoats 91.900 2 The Cavaliers 91.650 3 Santa Clara Vanguard 88.950 4 Blue Stars 87.350 5 Boston Crusaders 85.350 6 Blue Knights 84.800 7 Spirit 77.950 8 Crossmen 77.500 9 Jersey Surf 71.300 10 Pioneer 70.650
  19. <<< HOMER. Bluecoats. period. Love Crowns brass line and the arrangements are fantastic but the show is bland at times. Their guard is great but drumline is struggling. Gotta go with the Bloo this year for sheer entertainment. Klesch is great but I think the Rarick/Thrower team have put together the musical program to beat this year. All sections are strong. All guns firing. The WHOLE package = Bluecoats 2010. The future IS now.
  20. S'ok Mike - I think I figured it out just now. Can someone close this topic? Sorry.
