  1. By United States Presidential Decree, the "Drum Corps Capitol of the World" IS Racine, Wisconsin.
  2. Safe travels Jeff. See ya out there. My drive is only 1 hour, that's if I can get the car up to 878 mph. b**bs WWBD
  3. "Auld Lang Syne" (especially the brass ensemble version)
  4. If you've never attended, or performed in the Kiltie show at Historic Horlick Field......you may have been missing one of the greatest drum corps experiences. (beside the beer) The area "knows" the drum corps activity and is highly appreciative of each corps, it is an "up close and personal" type stadium, it always has great crowds....and they serve beer!!
  5. To the best of my knowledge, honor guard and DM's are not counted.
  6. Chicago is actually a suburb of Racine................that's why we have a nice strong contigent of Illinois members, plus more from one of Racine's other suburbs (Greater Milwaukee Area), plus many from all over the United States of Racine. b**bs
  7. As Bryan mentioned, it's called going "True"....and why let the rookies have all the fun, it goes beyond the rookie stage!! b**bs "I'm out there Jerry, and lovin' every minute of it!!" Kramer, Seinfeld Episode
  8. That should be the responsibility of the "on site" contest director and the judges of that evening, and done that very evening if there were questions or clarifactions needed. I'm certainly not dissing the contest director, or judges.....all fine folks. But they were given a format and procedure to follow, and from what was mentioned, also training on DCA sheets.
  9. There was a post placed by Brad F. in the Div1/General area on Saturday with the scores as: Blue Stars 78.063 Pioneer 76.175 Govies 68.863 Cap Sound 66.313 Lake Erie 62.4 ?????????????????
  10. DCA sheets with DCM (CSJA) Judges...........there are other scores out there that are different.
  11. I think with CSJA judges, not DCA judges.
  12. Her last dying words were....." t....te....tel....tell my k..ki...Kiltie Family, w...we...WEA WINNEA BEA DAUNTED" And you can hear our passed Kiltie Brothers and Sisters from Heaven say: "It's about #### time.........the truck is finally here, let's get her unloaded..and play "Syne"" b**bs
  13. .......sorry, I do not understand. What is (or are) these things called underwear? b**bs
  14. $275 plus shipping.
  15. I have a 3 valve DEG, not in good shape, but rather EXCELLENT shape.
  16. After the auditon process: at present The Kilties are fielding 6 snare, 3 quints, 5 bass, 5 cymbal. Have equipment to add 2 snare, 1 quint, but it may be too late, that would be the "call" of Caption Head Chris Thompson based on talent and work ethic. The bass line was already reduced from 6 to 5 bass two months back. The pit has 8, but would be nice to add one more mallet player.
  17. ...........Ray Charles couldn't sight-read either. He did okay B) ............what the heck is this HERE!!!
  18. ....if I have to spraypaint one more pole and put clear contact paper one it....... Luckily this past season we had regular poles for practice and contacted poles for shows. Last season we repainted and contacted every pole like 5 or 6 times.. it was such a pain in my rear <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Scott Jones (Kilties guard guru since mid season) had the poles taped. If you find the right outlets, a lot of different colors can be found.......lot easier than painting.
  19. All indications are The Kilties will be adding a french horn section back into their brass ensemble (if there are enough showing interest and have the "chops" to do so). Thus keeping horn chops up should be pretty easy with The Kilties. Plans are for a minimum of 5 horns and 5 mellos, but ideally it has been mentioned of going to an 8 & 8 midvoice section.
  20. Thanks for the review. Just to set the record correct, The Kilties marched 45 brass, 18 color guard (2 could not attend), 15 1/4 field percussion (one stacked bass drum B) ) 8 pit, 2 DM's, and an Honor Guard of 9 (2 could not make it). All one dedicated family of members with hearts as big as watermelons and plaid all over!! .............The Kilties Open House to commence the 2005 season is Sunday, November 14th, at Gilmore Middle School in Racine. Begins at NOON.
