while i agree with what you are saying, i think if that is their plan...they should say so. don't leave members out of loop, because now is the time to figure out where you are marching. if they aren't fielding a corps...say so. if they aren't having camps until march...say so. it's not fair to those planning on marching to just disappear and give no information.

Let me start by saying this isn't meant to be a bash on either the Blue Stars or the Troopers organizations. How are the Blue Stars affected by the return of the Troopers? I ask this because a lot of Troopers went to BS in 2006 because their corps was inactive. Are these members now returning to Troopers? Are they staying at their new home? How is this affecting BS's numbers as far as vets?

i remember cadets 04 getting a lot of slack on here during and after that season...interesting to see that now it's in second place on this poll

sounds like a good way to give north coast rock more time (a whole year) to raise more money to get horns. and i'm sure in 2008 if cap reg comes back, they'll get their horns back too if they want them. doesn't seem strange to me at all.

just make sure you don't drop the long ranger out of a press box during rehearsal...it tends to break them

BD 00 may have had a go at it. But who cares - that shows is the deal (among many others from that year...I heart 2000). BD 05 might've been able to get judges feedback sooner and make more necessary changes. Still wouldn't have won, probably still would have been fourth. GMen 06...never saw 'em. Have to wait for the DVDs, so I can't say.

wow i guess it was a pretty popular piece in 2001....my high school band played it then, too.

Corps had plenty of warning (when did they announce Pasadena...before 2005, right?) that the 2007 season would be ending on the west coast. Though it does cause more of a financial strain, it certainly wasn't a surprise.

I think it's hard to convince kids to take a year off from a tour to do local parades and gigs at nursing homes. Especially vets.

I've crossed out the unnecessary parts of this post, especially considering it's coming from member of the administration of The Magic. IMHO, this post, and other previous posts (i.e. criticizing alumni), do not shed good light on the administration of this corps. Especially in a time like this, communication should probably be limited press releases and other formal statements while everything is being figured out. It will really make the organization appear much more professional, and doesn't turn off potential help because they have been called "Monday Morning Quarterbacks." Just my 2 cents. My sincere best wishes to The Magic...come back strong in 2008!

Troopers - off for 06, back in 07 Obviously Magic...here's hoping they can make a comeback like they did in 02 and 03 (and maintain it!) Though WGI is obviously different (costs a lot lower, etc), going inactive for a season is not unheard of. Pride of Cincinnatti was inactive in 2000, came back and won the gold in 01. San Jose Raiders were inactive this past season, but are apparently coming back for 2007.
