  1. wah. you're the new Cadets. guess what...as much as some of us give the Borg a hard time, they took it a lot better. signed a guy who liked BD 76-90, 92-99, 01-04, 06
  2. wow. not all of posting here hate BD. thanks for generalizing and, at the same time, making BD fans look bad signed, A guy who has loved BD most years since 1976
  3. doesnt mean the product gets cleaner tho. the kids have a few weeks learning a whole new show, while the other corps with no holes have been chugging along for months
  4. i'll partially agree. while the math breaks down to 50/50 on how its weighted, commentary is 65/35 to visual. music judges have to comment about visual demands all the time. yet never do visual judges talk about the music demands the performer must juggle with the visual. NEVER. if this were the case, BD may still have won, but the spread would be closer, and, IMO, the visual demand numbers would have been lower than the visual performance numbers
  5. make the regional early. but...yeah we need an artificial surface, preferably not old school carpet. Madison, for all of it's cons, loves DCI. Denver apparently was awesome. we need to rotate...east, west, midwest, south ( not too far south so we dont die of humidity in August) much as I'd love to see the new Dallas stadium, jerry Jones will gouge us every way he can think of. If people #####ed about Foxboro prices, wait til you get to JerryWorld. ( and i'm a Dallas fan) Bloomington sounds awesome. I always enjoyed Buffalo. Orlando...good god no. San Diego would intrigue me, I have family in El Cajon and Santee Seattle....would rain be an issue? I liked College Park a lot in 2000
  6. hey thanks for reading....i had forgotten about this thread. good thing is, others here have backed up what I was told...including people that worked it. funny thing is, go and read what I actually said. and then you have the posters...and vendors...who agreed with what I was told...and said it here. I won't lie....i have an interest in seeing the marketplace flourish. it brings money into my house. and if the marketplace is well advertised, the people who pay my wife to work it are happy and she'll keep getting that money every year. Not only that, but the person who hires her, a dear friend, will have success in their job...ad that success means my wife keeps getting the money. so, at no time did I say what I thought...I said what others told me. go read the quotes. guess that gets in the way of your rant tho. I hate when the facts do that to people.
  7. drills were not all that crazier 10 years ago, yet the books seemed fuller with more meat. you had a lot less bodystuff then too. as for the lot..shame is, some corps spend so much time in the lot on #### they'll never play on the field that the field product suffers. hey great...in the lot you played "inverted flam cheese curls with a huerta feel" at 160. yet you #### out 16th rolls on the move. hmmmmm
  8. so the contract allows the roof to be removed?
  9. and Friends are basically treated like PSL's for sports season ticket holders.
  10. just because a corps goes on in a spot doesnt mean they will end in that spot. history has proven that
  11. i read. i just dont get the clues. they're over Jim's head
  12. if DCI has to pay to get out of it, they'll stay and jack up the prices for those that still come
  13. you may want to tell that to many of the powers that be.....they saying booing hurts the kids, have all the way back to 1991 Star. in fact, go look at Hop's comments the last 4 years prior to this year
  14. because everything they do is marketed towards the band kids in their own words. great job OP
  15. won't be there friday, so i predict whoever scores highest wins
  16. i dont work for Gannett...they dont have a mortgage department as for JJ....sorry, but i dont think any judge was there. the sound on the field, even at a good stadium is different than in the seats. and i'm a guy with little faith in any judging system, even ones i have judged under
  17. given that Cadets had a snare go down, a bad recovery and never settled in afterwatds, i doubt it
