I do think there are many high schools (districts) who have fields with artificial turf. I used to teach in Texas and I would say a majority of the larger high schools / districts had a stadium with artificial turf. I am now in Kansas and there are several high schools with artificial turf. I also remember when seeing many fields with artificial turf at our housing sites when on tour. This was 20+ years ago.

I have a question regarding guard. Cadets used to have one of the best guards in DCI. I know there has been a problem with consistency after April left. Does it appear this issue taken care of?

I am glad there was a jump in their score last night. It appears they have been stagnant. I must admit this is not one of my favorite Cadet shows. I am not a fan of the queen running the field.

We had a lot of dark clouds earlier. It should be perfect weather tonight for a show!

Is the performance in San Antonio going to hurt the Cadets? I have seen the show (video/streamed) several times. Though I feel the Cadets some great talent, I really don't care for the drill and visual this year.

That would be neat if they could at least make this a regional with almost all of the corps attending.

The media in Denver is doing a great job of covering the Blue Knights.

It is so nice to see people being positive on this thread.

I am extremely pleased that the Madison Scouts are playing to the audience. I wish more corps would do this.

My school has hosted drum corps in the past. Though smoking is not allowed on campus, people are welcome to smoke just outside of the area. Many years ago I witnessed members smoking outside the school's main doors. I have seen this happen anymore. My biggest concern when I witness a corps member being so intoxicated that he peed on a building wall one night.

This isn't even a show. This is wrong for DCI to schedule a show like this.

I was also thinking of defamation.

I feel sorry for the person involved and the Cadets. Something seems fishy to me. I don't like how the mother/guardian put this out there in public. It's almost that she upset that her child didn't make the Cadets this year.

People on Phantom's thread have been calling for a change in staff over this year's show. I didn't know which thread was worse, Phantom's and Madison's!

Perhaps one day again corps will be rewarded for marching and playing at the same time.

I do wish corps that march and play get rewarded more.

Who is in charge of number of performances? I know that Blue Devils generally have more rehearsal days scheduled than other corps. Can corps choose to tell DCI that they only want to perform a certain amount of shows each week?

What is the size of the stadium?

I don't understand why many people keep putting blame on the alumni.

I remember Wausau Story. There were actually quite a few drum corps in Wisconsin and Northern Michigan a while back (Belles of St. Mary - Rhinelander, Americonos - Appleton, Maurauders - Oshkosh, etc.).

I think Boston's show could surprise people by the end of the season. I also think it will come down between BD and the Crusaders for top guard.

I really like the show this year. The change in color is effective. I think they have an opportunity to move up once the show is cleaned. I like this show much better than some of the shows currently scoring above them.

I haven't seen any guard at Boston's level of content yet. Some of the guards look like a high school guard compared to Boston's guard. I don't mean this an an insult; just to compare the level of demand and execution that I see from the Crusaders.
