I totally agree with you here. I remember back in the 90's when corps staff told me not to pay attention to DCP. I rarely post on DCP because I feel most of the comments are from "arm-chair designers" who put down shows. It is actually quite sad that people criticize their own to a point that is hurtful to those who participate in the activity. Terri - You always remain positive!

Is Madison marching a full corps? What is the current number in the guard? I heard that Madison was marching around 28 in the guard. If so, I hope they will be allowed to add a few more.

I am so glad that there is such a positive vibe going on with the Cadets. Perhaps you can send some of it over to Madison's thread. They are taking a beating!

Hopefully one day there will be a Madison thread that will be more positive. I do understand everyones concern, but I feel by some of the posts that some people don't even want them to be successful.

You should be very upset over this. I caught staph. over 10 years ago and was in quarantine in the hospital for 5 days before the doctors found something that would work. I have other issues with Pioneer. I was just glad the administration wasn't around when they stayed at my school.

I can read a lot by job looking at the board members. This should never be allowed. How can this board make a sound decision?

I think their guard was decent. I do think staging hurt them as well as the first part of the show.

I really can see this happening if everything is true about what has been reported regarding the experiences the members faced while on tour. This is a total shame and a black eye on drum corps.

As an educator, there are several things reported that are prime for a lawsuit. DCI could be part of the problem if it new of these problems.

I am not familiar with the problems Pioneer is facing.

I am not aware of the finances within YEA; however, is there a fundraising issues or lack of funds? Has the move to Allentown hurt the corps ability to raise funds? Hopefully, there is someone on board who has in-roads with corporations and is able to write grants.

The members must be really proud tonight with the large jump in score and the reaction from the audience. This show is a testament to what can be accomplished in times of adversity. This would make a great book or movie! The character of the members must be out of this world!

I realize Met Life Stadium has been brought up about the possibility of hosting a regional. Is the area around the stadium (30-mile radius) safe for corps to stay? Are there enough schools in the area that would be willing to host schools?

Les Miserables is one of my favorite shows. I remember being in the stands near Zingali and listening to him throughout the show. The fight scene blew me away!

I remember all of the RVs at a campground in Boulder when championships were held in Denver. It was a great time seeing people from all over the country.

I would be skeptical of using Allentown again for a contest if enough adequate housing can't be found for all of the corps.

I know our school has to hire security at night when a group stays over night. That is an additional expense. Plus, many schools have programs, such as summer school, band camp, football, etc. going on which makes it difficult to host a corps.

WOW! I thought the members were very well behaved at all of the places when I was on tour. They also cleaned up before they left. That is sad to hear this. Hopefully things will gradually change. It take sometime to change impressions once places feel they have been burned.

Has the rain / flooding caused the lack of availability of schools for corps to stay? Is there a national guard base in the area? If housing appears to be such a problem is it possible that this event will either be cancelled or moved in the near future? If moved, where would be an alternate location? I was wondering if the local news media in the Allentown area could be used to help with the housing situation.

Yes, the overall product may not be at the level of other corps design wise, but it is not the fault of the performers. We must try to keep the performers in mind on this forum. In addition, there are many parents who view this site.

I do like BD's show this year and the way the guard interprets the music. However, there are some very strong guard programs this year.
