  1. I think what will be more interesting is when they have full panels. If the scores stay the same, then i think we could possibly say that we are not using the back of the sheet and just throwing out numbers. We shall soon see!
  2. Actually, in recent legislation, they changed the name of the state and it is now the University of MISCONSIN!!!!
  3. Thanks for the congrats...who was your friend...i assume it was when you marched Kiwanis. Hope all is well down your way and take care! Evan
  4. Yes! I spoke with your son about that when i was working with his section a few weeks back. I'll be up in Orlando in a couple of weeks and look forward to seeing the kids and parents again! Best wishes to all until then! Evan
  5. OK...i won't tell Schletter, but i'll do my best to keep Jeff Bridges from letting him know Anyways...it is off to bed, i've got one more day of mini-camp to go! Speak to you soon! Evan
  6. lol...yes jane i am the band director at Santaluces. If Matt's best friend is Mikey Arbeleu (spelling), then yes...my dad is an attorney that works out of an office that Mikey's mom penny works at. What a small world. Anyways...thanks for the kind words about our band and get some rest! See you in Orlando. Evan
  7. hello jane! i don't know if we met, my name is Evan and i spent a week teaching Boston before they left on the road. I was there when Matt went to the hospital for the first time and let me tell you i know how much this is killing him! Tell him to rest up and i hope to see you and him in orlando when i meet up with the corps. For what it is worth, when i marched in 1985, i contracted walking pneumonia and had to stay home and meet the corps eventually in Pittsburgh. It was tough, but the joy of seeing my friends and getting to perform again was worth the wait. Tell him i send my best and look forward to seeing him in a couple of weeks! Evan Rogovin
  8. Academy had a great year. If they work on refining that brass sound and improving in the guard and visual captions they could be right there again next year. Congrats to them for a very successful first year of Division I.
  9. Way too close to call....my guess is that whoever has the better show tonight (Cadets or BD) will win! Now there is some insight for you! :P
  10. This is not out of the realm of normality. In 2001, we warmed the Crossmen up at our housing site and then just bused right to the gate for performance. We were so close, it just made sense.
  11. I wouldn't get too "suspicious"....Michael Grey is a quality judge and perhaps he saw things differently than the night before? Perhaps they didn't perform as well?
  12. Don't forget Mississippi! I heard many a horror story from those finals!
  13. Don't mess with The Troopers.....they will bust you up!
  14. blah, blah, blah......enjoy your corps while they can, it is one more night......then......see ya in '08!
  15. Humans making decisions based somewhat on opinions.....the recap is as it should be, with captions placing higher and lower....AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE STRAIGHT 11111, 2222, 333, ETC.
  16. Please don't tell chuck he's famous!!!! I haven't gottten his final invoice yet! :sshh:
  17. Andy has been around for over 10 years as a judge, so i would give him the benefit of the doubt...plus...he's a GATOR! b**bs
  18. Why should George say anything? He did right by his drum corps and did the RIGHT thing last night. One thing i know about George is that he does indeed care for his corps and makes sure they have a performance field that is acceptible and safe. Thats all he did last night.
  19. As a former corps staff member and current music educator i respectfully disagree. Drum corps is a competitive group activity. While I & E is admirable, i don't see the educational value of a brass ensemble playing their arrangement of "Malaguena", etc. While there are some outstanding performances, the lack of participation, and the fact that many corps don't participate, make this an event of wasted proportions. I & E has overlasted its purpose IMHO and i don't think the majority of our community would be sad to see it go. Leave the solos and ensembles for the individual state music associations and college studios and keep drum corps about drum corps. As always, my 2 cents.
  20. They just offered me a full refund of my $89.00 and i took it. The only deal is i have to PPV semis, but i don't think i will. Maybe in a couple of years?
  21. Frankly, i don't think them refunding people is killing their resources. You are not depriving them of anything. This was a product, we are consumers. If the product isn't acceptible then consumers should be compensated. You have to look at it this way. In the future, just send 90 bucks to your favorite corps, trust me, it will be used more effectively that way.
  22. Yes. They just sent me an email confirming my card was refunded the $89.00. I am reverted back to Gold Membership, however, so i have to PPV semis, but i wasn't really gonna be home, so no big deal. I will wait until this gets better, perhaps in a summer or two? But no way will i plunk down money again without making sure the product works. Buyer Beware! B)
