I, being rather bored this morning went on yahoo maps and typed every tour stop for the Colts' rest of a season. the total number of miles came to ~5,160 miles and 83 hours or 3.5 days of travel left for 2006 a thread that's almost a complete waste of time but whatever.....

If VK was still around I would definitely be marching there! That clip with the VK DMs at the BD home show with the lawn chairs!! I couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes. CLASSIC!!!!

I'm reminded of something Greg Orwoll says at camps for the Colts. (Paraphrasing here) 'the colts have probably been the most consistant corps in the activity, placement-wise. Try to find another corps who has been consistantly 13th place come finals week.' The Colts organization is a very healthy one, for reason stated above about directors caring more about the logistical, and living arrangements than placing top 5. It has been said that the Colts are an entry corps (meaning marching one season then "stepping up" to a "better" corps) I from many vets telling me that they may have had this in mind when they started to march Colts, they have since completely thrown that out the window and fall in love the this Corps. It probably the greatest feeling in the world to march for the ring or just make finals, but also as said above, it really about the time spent on those horrid summer days that make drum corps what it is; A life changing event. There's the time before Drum Corps, and then there's Life after Drum Corps. For me 2002> = BC 2003< = AC

Don't get too hyped about this score...... the only thing the judges had to compare them to is a bunch of D2 and D3 corps.....

Haven't Lisle and Columbia been the only DCI focus shows so far? If so, then I would think that this is why a "coverage bias" has happend.... (I'm not sure about the two above being the only Focus shows, so please correct if wrong) and the point of the logisitics problem... Just remember that this is only the second season for DCI: SP. next year I'm sure SP will have a more full season coverage. (Disclaimer: I don't even have SP but from what I hear it is a really great tool and I think DCI is doing a very good job with it)

Cell phone on tour.... Pros: Talking to people back home and venting some frustrations to them. Informing them of when your next show is that they could come and see. Cons: Talking to people back home an venting some frustrations to them. I found last season that everytime I talked to someone back home they reminded me that this whole 14 hours a day, jet setting, drum corps thing is freakin' CRAZY! Just thinking about being home in the air conditioning, hanging with friends, and just relaxing drove me a little crazy while getting my ### kicked everyday. Phones can be WONDERFUL but, they can also remind you of what you're leaving behind. Basically you could get a morale boost, or go into a withdrawl and feel like crap. anyways just an expierence I had....

Why are Scades and X men still rehearsing and not performing? bones were supposed to perform a couple days ago right, but it was rained out or something. it's just kind of weird to only have six weeks of shows rather than 8... not being accusational, just curious

since Spirit's last show thier score jumped 6.55 points!!!! I know scores can differ from judge panel to panel but 6.55 is really sweet.

Musician's earplugs huh.... where might I find such items? at the doc's office? that's pretty much what i was curious about, the plugs just quieting down things rather than distorting sound thanks guys

Does anyone out there have a recommendation for earplugs that are best for brass playing?
