  1. You have to remember that BITD, most members stayed in one corps for their marching careers, so my guess is that there was probably a large pool of age-outs in '73, with a bunch of rookies in '74 that got real good real fast.
  2. And you were expecting reasonable discussion rather than blatant homerism??? Congratulations Cavaliers on being astounding.
  3. 1974 Cavalier Cadets Guard Sergeant J. Fielder
  4. Yeah, it's been a couple of months at least.
  5. The roto-tom player from '75 Muchachos that is the sourch of a DCP thread about once every six months.
  6. 4 pages of thread and no mention of '76 Kilties "Linus and Lucy??" As long as you're referencing "The Sight That Shall NOT Be Named," search username go2thomas for 5 pages of drum solo videos--check out '78 Kilties and try to figure out if Mike Chiodo is looking at Paul Wojtena or you.
  7. I don't know who the big BD is, but the snare player in the lower left is Brian!!!!
  8. I think that rather than worry about a high school band, you should focus on grade school grammar and spelling.
  9. Technically, since you're XY, you lack the correct plumbing to "have" kids...... so I guess that generally leaves 1/2 of the world out of the happiness equation.
  10. http://years.bluestars.org/phil.php "There were always two parts to the basic concept in the formation of 'The Blue Star Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps.' The first part had to do with the fact that the vehicle, the corps itself, had to be fashioned to excellence. Not La Crosse excellence, not area excellence, but national excellence. We could be competitive with the world, not just competitive to participate, but competitive to win. The second part of our junior corps philosophy and the more important in the long run, was that each member must experience a positive learning experience. We wanted the corps to be a community within a community. A community where all the citizens would have a chance to better prepare themselves for the future. The spirit of the corps and the guarantee of the corps continuity was manifested in another way. It was found in its' leaders' dedication to the edification of its members. It was found in its' members' dedication to each other and not to personal glorification. We were not a corps of spiritual soloists. We were a group of people sincerely believing in each other and working and looking forward to the growth and success of those we worked with, and not just in drum corps. No prima donna members here, no self-centered instructors, no egomaniac directors. And the corps became great." Good luck Blue Stars on your journey towards greatness, white bucks or not, helmets or not, cross straps and buckles or not, Jewish or not--whatever. Just keep doing what you're doing.
  11. Check out the Crossmen to the right of Cavaliers!!
  12. I think up in Heaven, Schultz is giving Bobby Blue Star a sternum shot.
  13. You forgot to point out that sweet canteen you're carting around.
  14. He could never lean back as far as me, tho.
  15. You still owe me a drink from the Irish Pub in Naperville.
  16. I'm gonna guess that those are new jackets, 'cuz 3/4 of the alumni (myself included) are nowhere near the same size as when they marched. Even if I could fit into my corps jacket, I probably wouldn't wear it........it would pale in comparison to the old guys from the 60s with the Chicago Cavaliers jackets and garrison caps. You know--the guys whose lowest placing in the whole decade was third???
  17. Alright Geno--as long as you don't sport that thing when it's 100+ degrees outside.
  18. "You don't need to have a corps jacket on your back to have honor, Harold."
