  1. If you win the lottery, WNY needs a junior corps... You have NO IDEA how much talent is just wasted (not being mean as I speak from very personal experience) either not doing drum corps or only doing DCA.
  2. This was a great year for the corps as a whole. Cru is like a family unlike any other.
  3. Good luck not getting just a copy and paste of some of PR's old notes. Take a look at Crown 98, Cru 07, Vigilantes 09. Same drum solo each year.
  4. my resume' 05 - 12th 06 - 12th 07 - 10th 08 - 10th 09 - 5th 10 - 5th uhhhh let's hope next year I get first so I can enjoy it twice!
  5. Alliance got 4th in drums last year, beating Empire and Cabs so I am not sure there is much validity in your statement that "it is not fair to keep chopping out their legs when both groups did extremely well this past weekend." However, we (Cabs) did warm up next to CV Sunday night and their battery was throwin down, we were groovin. I also saw Alliance Thursday night and they were throwin down a bit as well, but to me did not sound as crisp as 09.
  6. Stumbled on Alliance's line last night. Short two snares, but they were throwin down. Should an interesting next couple of nights
  7. 490 East Bound, east of the city is a pain in my ### but that shouldn't effect too much since the stadium in on the west side :)
  8. Alright. Now let's take a look at where a large gap was. Percussion. Check out their pit to see a HUGE difference in both demand, technique, and musicality. Their drum line is decent, however I don't think you could compare them at all in the same league as any other of the three drum lines in attendance tonight. A 15.2 to a 17.4 between them and Bush on the field last night.
  9. Thanks for the kind wordas about our line, we have a lot of talent this year but as you mentioned, it's been probably one of the heardest years you could ask for. Just one thing, "it looks like they never got the time necessary to make that battery what it could have been. " I just wanna say, take a look at the drum scores from sundays show ;) http://www.dcacorps.org/wp-content/uploads...22-secaucus.pdf
  10. Where would Gren have fallen in this field percussion debacle?
  11. Check the field scores from Kingston: http://www.dcacorps.org/wp-content/uploads...07-kingston.pdf

  13. Great review Sayre, but might I add, you said for Cabs drum line to calm down, you said this last year and all but 2 of our snares marched last year so I think maybe you are confused. I think it's our technique that may lead you to believe we are not 'calm'. We certainly play with an aggressive stroke, more velocity, and higher heights than a lot others (I believe). This may lead you to believe we are over hyping. Or we may indeed be over hyping! Thanks for your honest review, a great read!
