  1. My first thought in reading all of this was to get really scared. Then I realized that drum corps as I knew it, enjoyed it and loved it does not exist anymore. Nothing left to be scared of. What I enjoy is available on the Fan Network. Seriously though, Jeff D. is absolutely correct. Some kind of professional, detached, non-homegrown business expertise is desperately necessary at this point if DCI is to move forward constructively. Right know everyone is drinking from the same trough and that lack of diversity and expertise is not healthy. As far as whether or not secession is possble... The potential barriers raised here are logistical/ financial in nature. Never underestimate the power of the human ego to think that it cannot overcome those issues. That is how DCI formed in the first place.
  2. Yes we do Dale. My votes... '80 Spirit '78 Bridgemen
  3. The fact that Tom has not responded to this thread should tell you something. What I'm wondering is why all these public questions? If you have friend that plays there, why not go to the practices and meet the guys? Why not contact Tom directly? He has made that very easy through links on the CB website and is very open about what CB is and is not.
  4. Very interesting stuff. Just wish you had saved it until January when we really needed it.
  5. Not that I don't trust your memory Sam but I think I'll go back and watch the shows again before I give in. Fan Network s one thing that DCI has done right.
  6. Thread still going........................................................................... ..........
  7. Saw then a dozen times on tour in '80. They actually seemd louder in the finals in Allentown because the seats were so much closer to the field.
  8. I still like all those pics of Bones in famous historical places.
  9. You have to remember Sam that was year 1 for Zingali with Garfield. I'll bet pics from '83 would show a significant improvement.
  10. I would not want to see it but there are jazz charts that could benefit from the voices.
  11. Surely I have not observed anything even closely related to this topic.
  12. It's the edit in the post that just screams conspiracy...
  13. On this we agree. One of the cleanest shows they ever put on the field. La Suerte might be the best concert production number ever.
  14. Interesting observation backed up by the fact that no corps has won more championships since then.
  15. My read on this was that his biggest concern was the quality of the product on the field. Not sure that has really been addressed.
  16. Keep plugging away there Jeff. Lot's of folks here in your corner.
  17. He used to do the same thing with Quasar. It was almost as much fun to watch as the shows he wrote.
