  1. Best news I've heard all week. The WC summer season will be all the better with the addition of the Kingsmen to their line up!
  2. Agreed! The Troopers obviously. But don't fprget the midwest and the Blue Stars. Two intelligent choices for anyone with the talent and desire to march with two very compttitive and promising corps!
  3. You must be kidding! Or very stupid and bitter about something.
  4. Another question regarding the Macy's Parade? How come several of the HS and/or college bands were announced as a "drum and bugle corps BAND?" What's up with that? What does that mean? (I hate that!)
  5. I would love to see the performances of some of these corps, especially the (sob) final appearance of the Light Brigade. By chance do they videotape this show and if yes, is it available for sale?
  6. 1988 BD, one of my all time favorite shows out of Concord! The entire show consists of easily recognizeable music and it's also very entertaining.
  7. No offense toward the BD/SCV alumni corps intended, however, the reason the Anaheim Kingsmen received so much hype is because THEY DESERVED IT!! The same can be said about the two corps from NorCal as well.
  8. In agreement 100%. I highly doubt Jeff will be named Director.
  9. The Rose Bowl! That would be so great for those of us on the WC!! (I can dream, can't I?)
  10. Saw the Kingsmen in the Anaheim Halloween Parade the other night. They looked great and sounded spectacular. IMO, they were the highlight of the entire event. I would have to agree, their blue and black cadet uniforms are still the sharpest uniforms in the activity today, bar none! Bravo Kingsmen, on a job well done!!
  11. This Saturday, the 25th, the City of Anaheim will be hosting it's annual Halloween Parade. Just wondering if the Kingsmen, VK or Impulse will be participating? Anyone know?
  12. I couldn't agree more. I also hope they leave all the electronic junk on the EQ where it belongs! I look forward to seeing and hearing a more traditional Cadets on the field in '09! Please, Hoppy, don't disappoint us!!
  13. This is not a big deal. Actually, this is common practice among many corps. As someone else mentioned, returning vets are uaually given special consideration anyway. Relax, I am certain Madison will do well next summer, pprobably even better then they did this year.
  14. My ex GF used to drag me off to swap meets on weekends. I was always amused and yet amazed at the various drum corps jackets and t-shirts available at these things. Practically every drum corps on the WC was represented. This included numedrous oldies such as the Kingsmern, Freelancers, VK, Stockton Commodores etc., as well as present day corps It could very well be some of these people actually purchased these jackets at one of these swap meets.
  15. Dancing color guards, one of my least favorite changes about today's "drum corps." Flames rejected.
  16. Hope this doesn't cause an international incident, or worse, a full scale war!
  17. Romeoville, Illinois? When did they move from Milwaukee?
  18. Just sent Arnold another email asking him to veto SB 1369. That makes about 7 so far. Everyone, keep your fingers crossed!
  19. Rumor has it Hoppy is on a campaign to add kazoos in 2010. Conventional woodwinds will follow in 2012. Accordions will be added shortly thereafter. So much for "drum corps."
