  1. This. I can certainly enjoy both shows without a libretto - however, having one makes it more interesting for me. I'm also the guy that reads 'liner notes' on an album/CD and watches the 'Additional Features' / 'behind the scenes' content on the DVD/Bluray.
  2. An abbreviated schedule for me this year - too many 'real life' things going on. Nevertheless, some fantastic shows: Jun 20 - Clovis, CA Jun 21 - Stanford, CA Jun 28 - Glendora, CA Aug 7-9 - Indianapolis, IN
  3. If I were 2200 miles closer, I'd be there. It sounds like a fantastic concept and a great way to bring the 'non-traditional' audience to the show. DCI and others should be promoting the hell out of this type of involvement with and outreach to the local community - IMO.
  4. You may find it interesting to compare 'progress' by looking at the Scoring History feature of the DCP Caption Ranking / Scores System. This feature allows you to select a season, corps, and caption and view its scoring history as a line chart plotted across the time interval. Hover your mouse over a datapoint (dot) to see the date and value. In addition, you can compare the history for one corps against another ... or itself in a previous season.
  5. I'm streaming from iPad to AppleTV using Mobile MultiCam feed. No problems here since reset in BlueStars' show.
  6. John Meehan has done a fantastic job with writing PC's book the last couple of years.
  7. Perhaps - but we don't make any changes to the core software during 'the season' unless absolutely necessary. -john
  8. If I could suggest - our very own DCP site has full ranking, scoring history, and recaps for every show, right at your fingertips. There is a "Scores/Stats" button in the menu bar at the top of each forum page. Of course, Chris Maher's CorpsReps site has a wealth of information our Scores database doesn't ... so I'll continue to encourage folks to look there for scores prior to 2003 and all of the repertoire information he's amassed over the years.
  9. Perhaps - but a puppy died somewhere when you did. It may have fixed the sound issue - but it has almost certainly broken a myriad of other things. Do as Kevin suggested earlier - install and use Chrome as your default browser.
  10. I've just added a new option to the Division selection on the DCP Caption Ranking page to allow you to see a combined list of World + Open Class corps. The option is only available for 2013 and forward. http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/stats-captions/
  11. Click on a show that has already occurred (and scores posted) and you'll find a link to the complete score recap. (A different set of "fat fingers" puts those in.) After creating a 'tour map' for Pacific Crest last year, I thought it would be neat to add a map to DCP that showed all of the corps' tours. Garfield stepped-up to put the data together, while I worked on the code and integration with our scores database and applications - so everything works together. As time is available, we'll continue to enhance the page to add more features. Yes - distances would be cool ... but I'm the kind of person that would want to do it the 'right way' and calculate driving distance, rather than the distance of the current 'as the crow flies' lines between tour stops. Thanks for your feedback and support. -john
  12. Probably not this season ... but perhaps in the future. There are a number of things we can do with this - just not right now.
  13. Yep - HUGE THANKS to DCP member (and King of All Spreadsheets) "garfield" for getting all of the data together and into a spreadsheet so we could import it into the database.
  14. Its not surprising that there may be an error or two - when considering that all of the data was entered by hand ... all 875+ individual corps event records. Thanks for the info, we'll get that corrected.
  15. This was a good idea, which I was able to implement quickly. That's it for changes now for a while ... back to 'real work'.
  16. A recent thread in the World Class forum asked about whether a map of corps' tour stops was available online. I had built a similar feature for Pacific Crest's website (as their webmaster) and had experience with the Blue Devils Tour Map feature that they've had in place for some time. Each of those pages provide information for the specific corps - but nothing I'm aware of provided tour stop information for ALL DCI corps ... until now. With the TREMENDOUS help of our very own "Garfield", who first expressed the desire for the feature in the thread above, we've put together a 'Tour Map' that allows you to select a particular corps and have its tour mapped for you. Each stop includes information about the venue location, as well as the other corps expected to be at the show. Once scores for the event have been loaded in our Caption Ranking System, we'll remove the schedule and provide a link to the score recap. My thanks to Garfield for taking on the task to assemble the data, while I was getting the code whipped together. We have ideas for future enhancements ... so continue to follow-along. You can access the Tour Map by pressing the "Tour Map" link in the menu at the top of this page ... or by directing your browser tohttp://www.drumcorps...et.com/tour-map. Enjoy! -john
  17. 1) Adding the ability to view more than a single corps schedule is already on my to-do list. Making the selection is the least of the challenges. May add one more corps to plot and compare, but not sure when I'll get to it ... this will have to do for now. 2) Yes, you did ... but it was one of the few corps that we added to the Prelims schedule in error. There is no official list of corps participating in the Championships Prelims event, so we just added most of the corps ... including some that are not active. That should be cleaned-up now. Sorry for any confusion caused. Please advise if you find any other information errors. Thanks!! -john
  18. If you hadn't noticed - the map 'markers' are on the actual venue address (not just the city) ... so you can zoom in and see exactly where the show will be located. This'll be great for finding directions to the event. Because its GoogleMaps, you can zoom, change to the 'satellite' view, and use other standard GoogleMaps features.
