gimpy
I think late 70s Madison might hold the title on that piece... (77?) That one was before my time, sadly. I'll have to see if I can find it. Love that tune...
decompressed
I have to go with: Channel One Suite: 1986 BD! Spats, wide-open drill and insane show!
dccorpsfan
I have to go with:Channel One Suite: 1986 BD! Spats, wide-open drill and insane show! I dunno...I like the '76 version better. Big, brassy, and in your face for the entire tune. The '86 edition was sweet, too.
hughesmr
Just looked it up... Scouts did God Bless the Child in 73, 74 and 78. I'm familiar with the 78 version ... classic Madison.

runyancm
I am also one of the minority who thought the 92 BD version of "When a Man Loves a Woman" was a great chart. Plus, it lead to a classic quote from Rondo. Also liked BD's "Since I Fell for You" in 1988. Even liked the swing coda they played marching off the field. Someone mentioned "Tommy" from 1990 BD, and while I enjoy listening to it on its own merit, the arrangement sounds less like a cover of Townshend/Daltrey then it does a cover of Sinatra/Riddle. And, on a homer note, i put another vote in for Carolina Crown's "Angel" from 2005. When I heard that it was in the rep, I wasn't sure they could pull that off on the field, but i think's it's gorgeous.
BeinGreen
I liked Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick by the Cadets I liked Crown's Bohemian fine I liked both 27 & Xmen versions of 9er2, Lancer's vers. has one of the most famous snare riffs in corps hist. Xmen's has one of the best endings in corps history Sinatra: It Was a Very Good Year - Troopers Send in the Clowns - SCV H.M. perhaps Softly as I Leave You - Cavaliers or Let it Be Me - Spirit
OrlandoContraAlum
Just thought of this one... Like a Lover... BD 84 If you can find the Sergio Mendez / Brazil '66 version of the tune, the Devs arrangement is spot on. Just sayin'
