festive
I prefer to give my show ideas directly to corps' design teams, where they die a quick, painless death. Actually, a couple of years ago the Colts played "Threshing Machines" by Aaron Copland, and I'd always wanted to hear a corps play that. I really liked that a lot! The Colts are so awesome! Gaddabout
I prefer to give my show ideas directly to corps' design teams, where they die a quick, painless death. It's impressive to see talented directors and designers take ideas and hear right away if they can make it work or not. I've seen show lineups before and shaken my head in disappointment, only to be caught by surprise at the quality of arrangement. That happened to me this year watching Crown. Never in a million years would've guessed those songs could sound so good and ... well, modern.

corps-mudgeon
The Cadets4:33 -John Cage (this isn't supposed to be a jab at the cadets btw, i just think they could pull off complete silence and use it to their advantage) This is modern drum corps... it would probably be chopped to pieces and only have selected phrases played. ^0^ Edited August 18, 2007 by corps-mudgeon
