lindap
1977 Alberta All Girls drum line rehearsal in England. We covered the Vistalites in orange cloth to protect them. This was a fine drum line. I hope I get this right 'cause I'm a colour guard girl. 6 snares, 4 basses, 4 tri's, 2 tymps, 2 bells, 2 cymbals. Yeah, the tri's were heavy at times. We carefully stored the instruments as we were on tour for 10 weeks, thousands of miles away from home and yes we too missed our family, friends and boy friends. Some of us came back from tour and no more boy friend. He didn't want to wait for her. Take care. Edit. 2 bells, they were good, musical, one was a small bell set but the bigger bell set was heavy, backs were sore. One of the equipment boys used my tape recorder. The snare line was the best I heard from an all girls group. Bass and tri tom played the exit drum to give the snares and bells a rest. We played shows anywhere from 10-30 minutes of music. Edit: Vistalite uncovered. http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...p;#entry2058078 Edited November 15, 2007 by lindap

lindap
DCI 1979? Blue Devils practiceTop: Sandy Kleinman, Cindy Marvelli & me Middle: 3 gals I had taught in BDB- I can't remember gal on left, Sondra O'Guinn & Beth Doebler The memories are coming back. The band called The Tubes, tube socks and tube tops. A little past my age out era but I remember it was very warm in the southern states watching 1979 DCI finals. From one colour guard to another, may I salute you. You make me want to march again. These are such fun photos. Can someone make a nice saluting Smilie? Tremendous horn player, and I only recently learned he later became Assistant Director of the Brassmen. We just re-connected via e-mail a few weeks ago.
