crpowell
Does Charlie get a contra solo? Lol! With the talent in this year's contra line, it could be any member of the section. (And it's only January. )
drumlaw80
Thanks to everyone for the cool comments. I had to scramble back to LA on Sunday, but Saturday was a fantastic day of camp, with a lot of talent auditioning for drum major as part of the festivities. After rehearsal, Chris, Dave Landers and I were up until 2:00 a.m. on Saturday night going through the storyboard and the new tune, Space Shuttle. The except you heard from Act 1 was recorded in a loud booming gym at Del Mar, and we never planned to release a recording ... but late Saturday night, we were hyping on how Dark City is turning out, and decided to share some of it with you. As you can tell, we are very excited about this show. Anyway, I put some pics from Saturday of the camp up on Blog 7. Enjoy.

Stage the hornline up front near the mics and put the drumline in the rear across the room. I am betting that you will get a better quality recording that way.
