madalumni
Well I would put the version we did in the 2006 Alumni Corps, but it's not on the list....so I'll go with 1980. That whole show is one of my favorite Madison shows, but the closer just rips your face off...and the Mellows/French Horns playing that 9th sends a chill up my spine every time! And then there's Boomer's (Dan Veerhusen) pure, energetic, charisma that gets the crowd pumped even more!
2000Cadet
Yeah, 1980 Scouts. Too bad I was in my mother's stomach. I would have gone to see that show.
markdewine
2000Cadet- Had your Mom been anywhere near the stadium that day, you would have heard it...AND LOVED IT!!!
friceox
I'd go with 2004 Madison on the Tour of Champions where they held the final chord for something like 3 hours, 19 minutes!Aside from that...1980 Yes!!! I have pictures from that actually....I busted out my camera during that chord and snapped a ton of pictures on the last night!!! now, I just gotta remember where those pics are... That was definately one of the highlights of marching that year.

lnavis
I really wanted to vote for the 2006 Madison Scouts Alumni Reunion Project, but that wasn't one of the choices :(
MikeD
Four words: I hate Ice Castles Nothing against any corps that played it, but when I think of the tune what springs to mind is Streisand screeching it out.
bass5
I went with 1980 but my favorite (and only) time playing it was with the 2006 Alumni Corps - every time I listen to it (which I admit might be a little bit too much) I still get the same goose bumps going up my spine as I did that night when the crowd went absolutely nuts when we hit the Ice Castles company front. The photo of Boomer waiving the 1975 flag is a classic. By the way Boomer was at Scouts camp last weekend helping feed the 2008 Men of Madison. Its never too late to volunteer Scouts Alumni & Scouts Fans - every days start on May 23rd. When the Scouts come to town they're always looking for locals to help out, show them where things are etc. All the info is on the DCP volunteer forum. Ah, you could say that about almost any Streisand-schmaltzed showtune rendition. Ice Castles makes me flash on an older Lynn-Holly Johnson's embarrassing appearance trying to bone Roger Moore when he was well old enough to be her grandpa in a certain very bad bond flick.
