Aw c'mon everybody. The show is called Finis. It's the ENDINGS of all the famous overtures. It starts with the END of Candide. The mad composer is trying to FINISH the music - only if you think the show has a STORY. I think it's just the concept of THE END. The famous drum corps FINALES just make it even funnier. End of 1812. The Cavaliers "Step Over". Too cute. What a clever design team.

Thanks Crown. I see a potential new medalist.

But do you finish it with a witch burning or the Castle Anthrax?

A spanking.

What would really make the show is if they started stealing the endings from corps' 2008 shows.:thumbup:

Years ago, I made a mix tape of great endings, the last 60-80 seconds of shows that got fans up in a noisy standing O. But it was a little bit too much whipped cream on the sundae and not enough variety. Crown wisely diluted the formula a bit by including tributes to moments that weren't only at the ends of shows, such as Claire du Lune from Phantom 1994. Crown has a much better mix than I had.

This show is GREAT !!!!!

What a concept.... to take endings from past excellent

shows, and intertwine them togeather to come up with

a program that is worthy of a top 3 finish IMHO....

Fantastic !!!!!

Michael

I'm a big fan of Crown this year, too. Pure entertainment and genius.

well i guess if its about a mad composer, then the guard uniforms fit. ive seen it 3times and just thought the music was just there because everyone recognizes it.
It is just there cause everyone recognizes it.

Is that a bad thing?

I think you're on to something here.

"Performing their 2009 program, Esophagus, Drum Corps International is proud to present..."

If you would work that into Cancer of the Esophagus, you might just have something there ...

I can handle the peril! There's only 150 of them!
