rodicus
Superb idea. As long as Hoppy doesn't announce later that The Holy Name Cadets will be adding a line of electric guitars and flutes to the show for 09 Holy Name could feature a guard of guitar-playing nuns. What a company front that would be.

JustABandMom
I'll bet my son is excited to march under Holy Name Cadets. Too cool. It'll be his age-out year cause he turns 21 in mid-May. First time he's ever been too old for anything. He's always been the youngest one. And now we'll have to get all new corps gear... Aaargh! I'll think about that next year. Martybucs
Holy Name Cadets to return in 2009Thursday, July 31, 2008 By: Caryn Goebel 75th Anniversary celebration includes name change In recognition of the Cadets' 75th Anniversary next year, George Hopkins, Director of the Cadets and the CEO of Youth Education in the Arts, announces that for the 2009 season, the Cadets Drum Corps will perform as the "Holy Name Cadets." “The Cadets are very much aware of their heritage and of the greatness the corps has provided young people for decades and decades. In marching as Holy Name, we hope to give praise and recognition not just to the members of the Cadets through 1957, but to the Garfield Cadets, the Cadets of Bergen County, and today's Cadets," said Hopkins in making the announcement. The exciting news comes exactly one year in advance of when the Cadets will hold their 75th Anniversary celebrations in New Jersey, The weekend of July 31 through Aug. 2, 2009. Did he clear it with the Pope?
Dr.Mickey
"And now, Sponsored by Youth Education in the Arts, Drum Corps International is proud to present, From Allentown Pennsylvania, by way of Garfield, New Jersey, the Holy Name Cadets of Bergen County!" That's quite a mouthful. That is too funny...I hope they don't try to time a moving warm-up with a big hit right after the announcer says the name. Martybucs
I wonder if they would add from Garfield NJ whatever way they did it would be real cool. Maybe they could even move back to the neighborhood and invite all the local kids to join in as activity in the community. That would be a real tribute to their beginnings.
