shawn craig
I say since we killed Spartacus this year next year music is all from Requiem's Requiems that would be great source material, some of which have already been mentioned. Mozart Requiem Berlioz Requiem Verdi Requiem Brahms German Requiem Faure Requiem Rutter Requiem A wonderful combination of dark and angry from the "Dies Ire" sections; Verdi's and Berlioz's both call for antiphinal brass. Then the incredible melodies and eitheral sections like "Pie Jesu" of Faure or Rutter, the Faure "In Paradesium," or the Brahms "How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place." faramirtook
To all you Phantom Phans and anti-electronics people: Would the introduction of electronic instruments allow for Phantom to do 1812 Overture WITH full-force bells and cannon-fire? Because 72 brass isn't quite loud enough. :P
Michael Boo
Well, they did have the whole soprano line playing those 16ths in the 1998 version. You want the low brass doing that too? Yes, and a dozen or more tuned bass drums. Way long ago, Largo High School Band came off-the-line with the entire band playing that in unison. I'd even be willing to throw in tuned chipmunks. GMichael1230
There is alot of Kchachaturian (spelling, way off, I know, sorry) Music that would be awesome to build a show out of "Masquerade waltz" is one..... Also, Tchaikovsky's "Polonaise" would be nice ! I also would like to see "Symphonie Fantastique" revisited. Geoffrey
Tim Coffey
I wonder if there's a 12-step program for recovering from drum corps addiction? "12 step program"...no. "4 jazz running step program"...certainly.
Pinwiz
I still want "What's Opera, Doc?" Let's do the Ring Cycle the right way!
Phansouth
I talked with Dan Farrell on Facebook last week. He said they're doing Mary Poppins. (He really did) I said, "Great! Did u save the umbrellas from '05?" My vote is for some movie scores. Hermann, Williams, maybe Lord of the Rings.
