audiodb
DCI did pay the people who were working on building the new stands...for the time they lost due to not being able to continue during the event, from what I have heard. ....one instance where "buying their silence" actually refers to a good thing. bawker
Well, at least this puts off the woodwind patch proposal for another year. . .

Yes...people say the sound of the gock in the warmup area makes a racket...imagine the noise THOSE folks would have made!
Harvey
Well, at least this puts off the woodwind patch proposal for another year. . . Thanks goodness!!! That was the best part of the message to me. No more ridiculous rules to be added. The whole electronics thing is enough of a strain on the old-time fans. No reason to add any more this year. BTW...the free use Star had of the facility was due to the donation of the lights for the field...next time you attend a night event there...remember Bill Cook and Star! DrumCorpsFan27
It's a great idea. Eliminate the meeting and save some money. No more flights for key people, hotel rooms, free meals, dessert buffets, etc. No more unpopular rule changes.

bawker
unless it's in the clarifications of the synth rules... You know, that really wouldn't surprise me.
CozyChopsCom
...or...they are choosing to be fiscally responsible and not spend scarce resources on an event that is apparently not needed this year. Mike, I totally agree with you. It's a solid biz decision that saves $$ for DCI and each corps that will not have to spend needed funds for travel and lodging. Great foresight!!
