"The only thing is that is sad is the core of people reminding us how sad it is. Do you think if you wave your finger hard enough someone is NH will run and hide?"

If you can't spell corps, you should not be on this web site. go home. you're cut.

Wow, someone sounds like a poor little spoiled brat. Many of us here only wish the best for the Spartans

and yes, some have mentioned it as being sad. Sorry, we feel bad for the kids, parents and others involved with the Spartans. I only wish them the best and hope everything works out.

.....And since you dont know the diff. between a CORPS and a CORE you have been CUT!!!

"It would appear that the dissident faction has prevailed, with LaFlamme stepping down and the organization's finances now under review by the attorney general's Division of Charitable Trusts.

Attorneys for the dissident faction would also like to see an investigation by the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees, an arm of the Department of Justice assigned to represent the public interests in bankruptcy court by monitoring the process and investigating potential fraud.

Such an investigation is necessary to provide closure. It could result in charges against the former executive director and others, or clear them of allegations that, up to now, have not been proven." from the article...

So, there is an appearance of management failure and/or malfeasance. Could be long term issues for P. LaFlamme if this proves to have legs.

I would only add some hearsay...sold contras...a group from NC...a mysterious fire of a couple of trailers...reporting loss of tubas that still existed...somewhere outside of NH....somewhere warmer...like...say...NC.

Not saying...just saying. The underbelly of drum corps to be sure.

Great news indeed!!! Lets hope that everything is OK from here on out. Sure will be some work to do but

lets hope its on ward and up ward!!!

I, too am glad this looks like a positive outcome for the future of the corps. I also like the fact that new management...used to be of minority opinion on the Board may mean substantial changes in some of the critical corps' operations...that would be a big help toward a stronger future.

So, potentially, we can see a brand new versio of the Spartans taking the field this summer...one can cross his fingers and hope...right?

It seems that the potential success in inextricably linked with Peter's stepping down. Hopefully things will go well with a better administration.

Wow - totally unexpected, watching from afar. Looks like there may be a successful ending to this after all.

Mike

But this is an editorial, not a news item, right?

True enough. Nothing is fully successful yet. They are very much still in deep with financial problems, though everyone seems to have the feeling that things will be okay as long as Peter is stepping down.

If any federal agency is getting involved, they will look at everything, including DCP and the chatter here. So adding "hear say" will get you involved, if you want to or not. That's been my gripe about this thread, you can hide behind the "we need the truth" line, but when you throw out remarks like that, you only prove to others that you have other motives.

Plus if you "think" you know something, step up and contact the right people and put your name out there showing you really cared.
