In common, we have 2008 regiment, 2005 cadets, 2004 cavaliers, and 2004 vanguard. Interesting. I've never seen the countdown before, so I can't tell you which are repeats, but I would think 2006 cavaliers would make it. hmm.... also, my top 6 2008 Phantom Regiment 2008 Blue Stars 2007 Carolina Crown 2007 Bluecoats 2004 The Cavaliers 2004 Santa Clara Vanguard Also interesting, I voted 2005 cadets in my 12, but not my 6. >_>

Coathope
2008 Glassmen, to me at least, seemed to be a real crowd pleaser. It was entertaining. The hornline swells at the start of the closer were, for lack of a better term, yum.
BRASSO
Conspicuously absent…. Blue Knights. True, but let's be honest, they have zero chance whenever the vote is put to nationwide Drum Corps fans. This Corps prepares their program in the off season to appeal to it's members and to the judges. The Program Director and Corps Director has said so numerous times in the past. So if they WERE selected for a finalist with a national poll of national fans, this would probably distract them from their goal for the coming year and I'd imagine be viewed internally by the Corps management as counter productive for them. contrajedi8
nothing says classic like 2008 drum corps...
bawker
Don't forget they preview some 2009 corps shows. You can't see that at home. Perhaps, but that minute or two of previews doesn't (IMO) justify the ticket price for the rest of the stuff I've already seen.
2CoolVK
nothing says classic like 2008 drum corps... It hasn't been called the "Classic" Countdown for two years now. It's now more about a Countdown to the upcoming season with previews of 2009 corps. They previewed Blue Stars and Crown last year. I hear that Jersey Surf is among the corps that will present some of their 2009 show during the event.
BRASSO
nothing says classic like 2008 drum corps... It is kind of odd to call something " classic " when the shows all are less than a decade old. Imagine a TV sport show on " classic " players, moments, or games, etc in baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc and the " classics " they selected went back to 2000 and onward. The phrase " classic " refers to it's ability to stand the test of time, ie the show, song, piece, etc performed is considered timeless. The conventional meaning is that there is no loss of appeal over a long period of time and retains it's appeal to audiences despite the passage of time. These are all fine shows, and are fine Corps. But only the passage of time will we find if sny of these shows will rise to the level of " classic " greatness.
BRASSO
It hasn't been called the "Classic" Countdown for two years now. It's now more about a Countdown to the upcoming season with previews of 2009 corps. They previewed Blue Stars and Crown last year. I hear that Jersey Surf is among the corps that will present some of their 2009 show during the event. Fair enough. If they changed the format to " countdown " from " classic " then this would aptly describe these shows as a legitimate " countdown " to the start of the new season. I think changing the phrase once they changed the format of what it is, makes sense. That said, I miss the previous format as it encompassed a wider selection to choose from.
