Galen
The Commandant's Own isn't going anywhere so I would say no.The Marine Corps will still use G Bugles as long as there is a Commandant's Own. 2-valve Gs I dunno- Obama's been changing everything else lately. skewerz
Phantom 03 sounded bad enough on Bb. I hate to imagine what that corps would have sounded like using G horns.yes, I am one of those people. did every recording of shows from the 80's sound bad to you? 90's? all those shows were in G. They all sounded pretty dang good to me.
Penn State
All drum corps in Japan (that is, a member of DCJ) are in G. Wow...really??? I'm surprissed that they are not playing on Yamaha horns...Is it safe to say that more corps in the USA are playing Yamaha instruments??? JeromeyBush
What's a bugle? It's that brass tube bent and buzzed into to make noise. No valves. *beating a dead horse in joisey*

I don't think they all sound bad, but collectively, I think with the help of improved recording technology and Bb horns, hornlines sound much better as a whole. Piper
Why spend all that money? Just take a Bb, tape down valve#3 and you have an instant two valve G. Wouldn't want to have to tune it though (tongue in cheek).

rut-roh
I still have my two valve sop to this day. I converted it into a lamp and it sits on the desk in my home office.
CitBos
None of the World Classes that I know of...unless Surf??Gs in the Jr ranks tend to be in the Open classes. I don't know for sure, but I thought Pioneer still used G horns to this day? If not to this day, they might have swited a couple of years ago, but I really did think they used G horns. Correct me if I'm wrong.

In open class Spartans did till after the 2007 season and i believe 7th regiment did or still does use G. there's a few smaller corps around in DCI that use G.
