Or in my case where a hornline member can trip on one and nearly break their frikkin neck on a gym floor in practice like I nearly did. The years I "marched" in the pit, I used to have to watch myself when moving from one instrument to the other! those things that they tossed around were dangerous, and ankle injuries waiting to happen!! Not so much in 84 when the only time I left my stuff was to de-tune Rick's timpani (he never DID master that one handed roll so he could do it himself) but 88 I was ALL over the place!
