I am wondering about the comparison between the DCUK and DCA sheets, judging.

Are they on the same sheets?

Any help??

JC I would imagine that the DCUK (DCE) Sheets are fairly different.

They are working to a new Judging system this year.

If you wish to get the complete low down I'm sure that you can get info from the DCE website

Thanks Matt.

So the scores for Kidsgrove so far could be way low or way high or dead on,in comparison to the DCA sheets.

Good luck in August

I'm told that Bob Thomas had a lot to do with the European sheets and that he told them they were modeled more on DCA than DCI, but then you read the criteria scale and it seems to be more stringent (like DCI world class) than DCA... this would - of course - make scores LOWER.

That being said...

comparing scores from show to show is difficult enough and very problematic... from system to system is impossible, misleading and dangerous.

Best suggestion: Catch Kidsgrove in Bridgeport or Rochester and decide for yourself.

dont know much about the difference between DCUK and DCA judging but I did catch Kidsgrove at warrington on sunday.

sweet baritone line!

Show quite dirty all the way through but I'm putting it down to the wet field. Good start, good finish but seemed to get lost in the middle. Maybe it was where I was stood (just outside the 40, just popped in during work to catch a few corps. couldn't sit down in uniform and had to have an ear to the radio!) but there appeared to be a bit of apprehension in the performance.

Its going to need a big cleaning job between now and DCUK/DCE finals to catch the Company.

I think you'll like them over there. good old fashioned, brash, in your face Drum Corps!

now this is traditionaly one of my favorite threads. i hope we don't get a lot of controversy this year. good luck to all the corps.

I always like watching this thread too. I see our score hanging near the top in July, when we haven't even put the entire show on the field, but then we start falling like a stone the rest of the season. It actually pushes us harder to be cleaner buy the time we are on the same field with the same judges as everyone else in Rochester.

SoCal Dream has now entered into our annual stealth mode.....see you on September 4th......

No, it's not lack of love (IMO) I believe it's more like the corps that have made it to the Northeast as well as the northeast haven't seen the West coast. Sad that either the west corps couldn't come east or the east corps going west. The midwest and southern corps try to get up there at least once before championships. Sadly, we still see the South, Midwest and West corps do the bulk of the traveling.

Man, no love for the west coast in most of the predictions!
