Schickmeister
They should listen when Ron gives them the step-child speech. That made my night. Who are you? Obviously we marched together....message me.
jjeffeory
Scribe...you got me thinking now.... Maybe it wasn't a Wendy's we ate at.... It might have been McDonald's. I know there was a Taco Bell. Both were right across the street from our rehearsal field at UW-FDL. Somebody told me that field is no more :( I ate at IN-N-OUT in Vegas....it was good, but I didn't have mega-bugergasms. I still enjoy Sonic Drive-In. ...and Bojangles and Zaxby's are just as good as Raisin Canes IMO. I had Zaxby's in Mississippi. That was not very good. The dipping sauce was bland gravy and the coating on the chicken was peppery and not very good. I much prefer Raising Cane's. I should have gone to Bojangles when I was in Chesapeake, but was in a hurry. I'll have to check it out. Sonic is tasty.
supersop
Looks like Coats visual GE performance and rep have leveled out with equal scores. that's NOT a good sign!!!!! Time for some rewrites ....
jjeffeory
Good but waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. It's all about that In-N-Out urge... animal styleeee I hear tey take relatively good care of their employees, hence the increased price. Their employees treat their customers better than most other fast food joints.
somerville
Sorry for the food detour. What the heck happened to Coats Music Ensemble score?
jjeffeory
Sorry for the food detour. What the heck happened to Coats Music Ensemble score? We'll see if these scores hold up after a couple of shows. It looks like a few first reads from the judges.
garfield
Well, I come here to find out what people thought of our show, and all I get is FOOD NETWORK! Jeesh. We had our largest attendance ever - expecting the final number to be over 4,000. Concessions were waaayyy backed up at INT. (Note to self for next year). Timing went off well. Saw some comments about Cavies late to start. They were right on time. Most shows seemed flat to me (but I was on the track for BS). Crown's visual on the 50 (MM's lying on their backs) was great from the stands. Madison was awesome, but I'm REALLY missing those G-horns. Short sleeves and gauntlets were nice. Guard was indistinguishable from the corps - got lost. 'Coats were exciting, but Asphalt Highway left me wanting more of Mackey's craziness. THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME! By all measures it was a success. Award given to the show director provided by Columbus Pro Percussion was the top two hoops of a marching snare with an engraved plaque glued to the head. Perfect for hanging in his study. Been up since 3:30am to meet arriving corps this morning. I'm exhausted. Good night all!
corps8294
Really surprised to BS's guard placing where they did; IMO that was strength from last year that they'd build upon this year. Is it just a matter of the book being so challenging that they're not achieving yet? If I recall correctly, the Blue Stars had a lot of age outs in the guard last year. I could be wrong. Although the guard is good, they don't seem to have the talent or fitness level that they've had the past couple of years. I really enjoy the Blue Stars this year; however, the overuse of props could possibly hinder thier progress onward and upward in the long run. If they are going to run with those at the top, they are going to have to mature beyond the crutch of props. I'm not 100% ready to hit the panic button on the Blue Stars, yet; however, they have a lot to explore this season and looking ahead to next year if they really want to move up toward the upper echlon. nero14
Music ensemble- Judge had bluecoats in 4th, 1.7 points under crown.... I'm just saying... That's an outlier...
