BozzlyB
Local NewsHome News Local News, This marching band refuses to yield Posted By RACHEL KUPER FOR THE WHIG STANDARD Posted 5 days ago A number of things help to make a drum-and-bugle corps distinct from your garden variety marching band. A drum-and-bugle corps has a much more dynamic visual package, said Grenadiers executive director Donald Dean. "It's more aggressive," he said. "It's definitely louder." It also costs a lot more to sustain, which may be one of the reasons why the Kingston Grenadiers are the last corps standing in the country. There's just so much wrong with this article! DrinkinOuttaCups
Is there a link to the full article? Also, first person to say "last real corps cuz they use g bugles and no amps LOL" gets a slap in the face. You're not clever, you're not funny, and I don't care that you hate the activity now, shut up. Edited July 29, 2010 by BugleBand
bawker
Kingston probably is one of the last DCA corps left in Canada, if not the only one. . .

JimF-LowBari
Kingston probably is one of the last DCA corps left in Canada, if not the only one. . . My thought too.... The "Whig Standard"???? Wonder how long that paper has been in operation? Edit: Read the article and not that bad considering the typical reader knows nothing about corps and probably could care less about the marching activity. More of a "Best kept local secret" type of article with some good info for the non-informed. But Grennies won DCA in 2004?? OK, we know the real story but funny to read anyway. MikeN
Now that Dutch Boy isn't competing, is there another DCI corps besides Blue Saints left in Canada? Between them and Grennies we're down to two total? Mike
