skewerz
Not to mention that it has been done by the Madison Alumni Corps, The Cadets and probably other Corps. I could go at least another decade without hearing Malaguena. Why keep rehashing the past when there is so much great music out there that has never been touched before. I don't mind that Madison will be doing NY, NY this coming season because It was only done once in our past, but that is an exception. I'd love to see the Scouts and other Corps explore some new or original music, possbibly go down the road of more fusion or Afro/Cuban Jazz...maybe some new Broadway music. But please leave Malaguena alone for at least a little while. :) the people marching drum corps now were at most 8 years old the last time Madison did Malaguena...Cadets did it in 2003, but they ain't Madison when it comes to Malaguena...

Stryfe
From the Madison Scouts Facebook page... The 2011 Madison Scouts present "New York Morning" including Bernstein’s New York, New York (from On the Town) and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’ (from Oklahoma!). We had hoped to announce the final piece of music but licensing rights are still not secured and preclude us from announcing it. We expect this to be resolved shortly.
Armyscout
Malaguena is bound to happen eventually here within the next few years just not in 2011.
WarriorHal
Malaguena would be a great encore number...unless there are plans to use it competitively again in the next year or two.

fecontra
You must be too young to remember the Hawthorne Muchachos. Even better yet - the 1967 version of Malaquena by the New York Kingsmen!
