WOOHOO
I'm probably in the minority in this one, but I actually liked the sound of a 64 member hornlines better (particularly in the tuba sections, way too many now). What are your thoughts on the matter? BTW, as the OP, I encourage all possible tangents. I LOVE THEM!!!!
bawker
The bigger, the better as far as I'm concerned . . .hell, I thought it was cool when Garfield marched 80+ back in 1986.
WMC85
More horns less guard - PLEASE!
fecontra
More horns less guard - PLEASE! less horns - less guard for me - it's getting too big and corps have sections of programs where players stand down ( or brass frolicks without playing ) too often
BAC oboist
64 is good for me. When I marched BAC, we had 48 - big for Boston at the time. BTW, as the OP, I encourage all possible tangents. I LOVE THEM!!!! How 'bout those Bruins?

WOOHOO
If you can listen to Bluecoats or Crown, and call it bad, then you have zero credibility. I didn't say they sound bad, they sound great, I just liked the 64 arrangement better. Don't be such a drama queen

mophilda
I think hornlines are like girls. There is a point where your hornline (and your girlfriend) can be too bottom heavy. I like the ratio found in the 64 man line best. I don't so much care if there are more or less horn players- just keep that ratio. This departure from my preference by most DCI corps today will not stop me from attending shows or enjoying performances.
