WOOHOO
How about 2014 in D-town. Detroit's Ford Field has a ton of restaurants and hotels close by. If you want to skip the hot dog ... go across the seat to the Casino and win $1,000,000 so you can start your own dream corps.I think alot of people would be surprised how much D-town has changed ... especially in that area. Very close to Greektown, the monorail, downtown Detroit, Fox Theatre ... too much to list. It is an enclosed environment .. but I've seen so many band shows there it isn't funny ... and the sound is more than acceptable for being in a "dome" structure. Who would want to visit Detroit? It would be like having finals in Birmingham (again)
Wildabeast
Stanford Stadium. Great for a regional, not quite big enough for Finals. Let's just see if this baby is up and running. Rumor says it should be open in 2014.
va9590jm
Minneapolis? The stadium there seemed great for the show there this year...
Chris Rohn
Detroit has more to offer than most think, and I wouldn't mind being able to stay home for the championships!
Dave_G
DENVER, DENVER, DENVER! Also wouldn't mind seeing Atlanta or Charlotte as options if they're looking east coast again. San Diego or maybe Seattle if they're looking west coast.
crfrey71
I'm for the west coast but not in California. Maybe Pacific Northwest? Quest Field in Seattle; Autzen Stadium or Reser Stadium in Oregon. If DCI insists indoors, then there isn't much choice out here. I suggest U of Phoenix Stadium or Cowboys Stadium. Sorry, but I can't see it being the Arizona Cardinals stadium. Yes, the stadium is awesome, but at what price? Remember, that natural grass field is rolled in and out of the stadium. Also, traffic can be a nightmare in and around Phoenix area. Then, all the corps practicing in the desert heat. Then, to top it all off, it's the height of monsoon season. San Diego is logistically one of the best sites to hold it. Parking is not an issue. Very close to downtown. Plenty of parking on site or you could take the trolley right to the stadium. Plenty of hotels very close by (Hotel Circle). Plenty of great attractions (Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, the beaches, downtown, etc...) all easily within 10-15 minutes at the most from the stadium. The airport is a couple minutes drive right outside downtown San Diego. No threat of rain, since the stadium is not far from the coast. Very easy access to the stadium by car (I-8, I-15, and the 163 - Friar's Road, all get you there.) The stadium is not the newest or greatest, but not bad. My only issue is the sideline has a good amount of distance between it and the seats. On the plus side, the mikes could be placed farther away from the pit and make for better recordings. sax1210
After mostly skimping us out of competition this year DCI, how about you give Florida another chance? I know people didn't like Orlando, but Tampa would be a great place for it. We have plenty of great hotel space and a pretty decent stadium (Raymond James) Also we have one of the best airports in the country that makes flying a pleasure! Pretty Please?

But the Niners stadium is in Santa Clara, which is like 45 minutes outside downtown San Francisco. Not exactly the best logistics.

Yeah but downtown San Jose is probably a better place to house I&E and logistical operations, and there are more housing sites there. San Francisco is a great city but not exactly friendly to drum corps.
