TwoValves
1982.... Both the Garfield Cadets and Memphis Blues did Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F 1982.... Both Spirit of Atlanta and 27th Lancers did Blue Rondo a la Turk as their drum solo.
IllianaLancerContra
IIRC (not cheating by going to Corpsreps) Madison & 27 both did 'New Country' as Drum Solo in 1980...
crazymello
Crown, Cadets, and Troopers played "Somewhere" from West Side Story in 2009. Also, Cadets and troop were both playing WSS shows.
crazymello
Those just must have been just Orfful. Puns are truly a lost art.
bluecoats88
1988 BD & Bluecoats both did "That old Black Magic" 1989 BD & Bluecoats both did "Johnny One Note" It seems like these two corps have similar musical thoughts when putting together shows. Donny Drum Corps
How many corps played Hang 'Em High in 1969? There's one for you Kenny...I am pretty sure it was 1969, could be somewhere around that year. DA
t-mac
1992 Cavaliers and Carolina Crown (Div. II at the time I believe) played the same Malcolm Arnold(?) source music.
tommytimp
In 1983 both the Knights and Crossmen played the Overture to "Russlan and Ludmilla." Neither corps made finals. Or wore capes at Semis.
HornsUp
How many corps played Hang 'Em High in 1969? A lot more than are listed on CorpsReps !!! I'm guilty - wrote a version for the fledgling Geneseo Knights. Including a musical battle between Indians and Troopers. jjeffeory
This might seem like a dumb nooby question, but I am curious. What would happen if two corps picked some of the same music to get arranged and put into their shows? With staff members of corps collaborating on 2011 programs right now, its not fully released to everyone what they will be doing until spring, what would happen if they found out another corps picked the exact same piece(s)? Has this happened before? Or does DCI ask staff what they are planning on so this never happens? This has happened many, many times. It happened last year. I think it happens almost every year.
