DrillmanSop06
Constraint = limitation, not freedom. Exactly. And from those limitations comes innovation. The creative process often works best in opposition to SOMETHING. It gives the structure needed to do creative work. Picasso is not creative because his art is abstract but because that abstraction works in opposition to the contraints of the medium. Poor example, probably. But structure produces creative work in many cases because of that subversion of structure or the opposition to structure.

jthomas666
With all the Vampirific shows this year it got me thinking.Wouldn't it be interesting if for one year DCI picked a word like Vampires or something and all corps had to build a show around that word. It would be interesting to see how diverse the offerings would be from corps to corps. just a thought Similarly, I've always wanted Iron Chef to have Spam as the secret ingredient. BRASSO
Wouldn't it be interesting if for one year DCI picked a word like Vampires or something and all corps had to build a show around that word. I 'd rather see Corps all do a show on " umpires ", rather than " vampires ". I 'd like to see how the DCI judges would call'em.
