drummergirl
how many aged out? I don't remember the exact number but I recently watched the tour DVD for PR and at the end they list all the members by section and indicate who is an age out. At the time I counted and I seem to recall that the number of non age-outs was about 13 for perc.
DanjrusMcRynky
Thank you sfzfan. I am in a position where I can read and type but not listen to audio via speakers or headphone. So, if the numbers you wrote are accurate, the minority numbers in the line are followers of Paul from Regiment/UNT. I still wonder how many of the rest in the line are SCV Vets instead of SCV Rookies. From looking at the most recent pictures of the set line, the SCV vets include one tenor, two basses, zero snares, and three cymbals. I believe there are two snares from the cadet corps in this year's line, however. Edited April 11, 2011 by DanjrusMcRynky

BlooContraGuy
There are people from UNT that weren't with Phantom last year that are with Vanguard this year. One Cadet in the snare line I believe, and their timpanist is from UNT, he played with SCV last year though, and just got lucky with Paul moving over. Lots of Phantom vets, and a few UNT people. My point is not everyone that followed Paul is from Phantom. Edited April 11, 2011 by BlooContraGuy

grandechai
The timpanist is a high school senior from Arizona who marched Academy last year. There are two SCV vets in the pit - the percussionist and a vibe player. The number of Phantom vets in the battery is 7 out of a possible 23 spots (4 snares, 2 basses, 1 tenor). I believe only 2 battery members attend UNT.
spiritofboston
The scv vet from UNT auditioned for timpani but is playing rack. I believe he was the rack player last year too.
