jjeffeory
IMO it's kind of like losing the NFL Europe would be. Who really cares. Of course the occasional Kurt Warner.... Bad form... This is what is hurting America. Who cares as long as I get mine, or as long as it's not mine...
Cainan
Geez BozzlyB... could you be any MORE insulting? All you are doing is showing yourself up as being ignorant and out of touch... The activity is very strong over here... DCE championships were a great success. The level of corps out here is exceptional (Kidsgrove... 6th at DCA, The Company, Jubal, Juliana, Black Knights, Beatrix... ALL top class corps). Why not try checking out European drum corps before you go slagging it off. We wrok just as hard and care just as much.

soccerguy315
Is marching music losing influence all over the world? Is it losing influence and interest here in the states? just curious what you think marching music is influencing (or has influenced in the past)? ChwyNiblet
What a shame, I was looking forward to my favorite Drum Corps Germany corps perform Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Edited February 28, 2011 by ChwyNiblet

Spartans87
If you care about Drum Corps, you should care about Drum Corps. Should not matter what city, state or country they call home. I saw Kidsgrove a few times this past year, and I was blown away. It caused me to search the internet for some video/audio clips of other competitors from UK as well as DCE, and I was even more impressed! This is bad for the activity no matter where it happens....
audiodb
Actually, this is the second time Germany's circuit has folded. Last time (much of the 1990s), the Starriders made a habit of competing in Holland, and the other corps pretty much resigned themselves to performing at the other available events locally (parades, concerts and exhibitions). I think drum corps competition will still exist in Germany in the form of DCE-sanctioned contests (or at least one such contest....the German Open). BlooContraGuy
Having known a few people from Germany and Europe in general, I'm pretty saddened by this. I hope that German corps still have places to go and a way to keep performing.
