hostrauser
Title speaks for itsself Not entirely, as it's difficult to place 13th, 14th, or 15th at Finals.
Hook'emCavies
I would love to see this corps place in the top 12 come finals!
TallAZEuph
I'm certainly excited to see them! With all the changes/improvements across the board, it's going to be a very exciting 2011 for The Academy. If only I could be in Tempe tomorrow night for Centerstage! TerriTroop
I'm pumped for Academy, Spirit, Crossmen, Troopers, Colts and anyone else who might wind up fighting for highly-coveted finals spots. For me that is much more exciting than the fight for 1-3. I know that for some the hunt for the title is big, but I'm pretty tired of the same handful of horses being in that particular race. (not saying they aren't spectacular corps by any stretch of the imagination, just that the competition at that level has become stale for me, personally) Maybe this year will prove to change that field, but the fight at the 11th-17th level is more fluid and volatile - in a good way. If the top tier were as fluid, I would be more interested. (I do get that with the current judging system, this particular phenomenon makes perfect sense. That is why I want the judging system to be modified to allow for more surprises in placements, but that's not the purpose of this thread so I'll stop there and we can start a new thread about that another day!)
BozzlyB
I hope it's another epic battle for 12th, and for some fresh faces to be in that spot. My guess is Crossmen will edge the competition this year to get back in, maybe even 11th leaving Colts and Academy and maybe Spirit to fight with G-Men for 12th. skywhopper
I worry that corps like Academy are going to get burned with Open Class in the finals this year. Well, I've never actually seen Blue Devils B or Vanguard Cadets perform, but I assume they'd rank in the low teens in an all out competition. Am I off the mark? Without Open Class in the mix, I think Academy has a great shot at 12th this year. I really enjoyed their show last year so I wish them all the luck in the world. The highest OC corps wouldn't place higher than 16th if you go on history. Of course Magic did get into WC finals after being in OC, but that was a singular situation that is not likely to be repeated.
