Jeff Ream
First comes salaries and wages. (I hope you're paying attention here.) Cavaliers Expenses Other salaries and wages 2009: $186,467 2010: $39,600 2011: $39,600 Huh? What the heck happened here? Did they slash staff in 2010? They listed only 1 full-time employee in each year - did that one employee take a huge pay cut? (BTW, all of this expense is listed as Program Service Expense.) what year did Jeff leave? SkyRyder_FMM
And, is it safe to assume that the one employee listed is Adolph? AND, does this mean that Adolph runs this corps for $39,600/year? Really? According to the 990, Adolph is not paid (though not all corps report the compensation paid on Part VII). It may be office staff.

garfield
They could be listing all instructional staff as "Independent Contractors", for sure. They'd not be "employees" if that's the case. The hint is that no "Other Employee Benefits" are listed.

garfield
Cavaliers Expenses Travel 2009: $348,752 2010: $423,721 2011: $416,443 Travel? As in Adolph and the Old Man travelling to shows on a chartered private jet? I don't think so. Something tells me that this includes Tour travel as well, as in buses and trucks. garfield
"Other Expenses" are broken down into 4 categories: Tour Expenses, Camps/Auditions/Recruiting, Uniforms & Supplies, and Rehearsal Sites. Cavaliers Expenses Other Expenses Tour Expenses 2009: $114,788 2010: $131,626 2011: $108,948 If rolling stock is included in "Travel", then it's likely this is everything else, like food.
