Citizen-Seth
I've now seen the show several times in person, including the uniform run this weekend in Little Rock, and I think this could be my favourite Crown show of all time. I'm a big fan of the source music to begin with, and the hornline sounds amazing. I really enjoy the narration in the ballad, though I prefer the female narrator to the male. The guard is excellent as usual, and it'll be nice for them to stand out again after being somewhat looked over in the sea of cream last year. The ending is a little flat for me, but we all know that it will change a hundred time between here and Indy. Can't wait to see them duke it out with Cadets and BD this summer.

corpsband
I'm not sure what the record is but damm there are a lot of tosses high in the air from this color guard in this show. The guard is super-talented this year (even more than normal). The entire weapon line has solid 8's. Crazy.
frachel
I find it ironic that the narration talks about being silent, all the while talking over the lovely music.. "there was silence between them, so profound was their love for each other, they needed no words to express it" Maybe by the end of the season they'll listen and realize they don't "need words to express it" and just convey is musically and visually.
Tyler C.
I wonder if they're planning on taking the ballad narration out at some point later this season, after everyone already knows the story. That would be an interesting (and sneaky) way of helping late-season viewers understand the story with only music, drill, and guard. If they're not planning on taking it out, I hope they try to do a better voiceover.

I found that strange, too. "They needed no words to express it." Yeah, and I need no words to understand it!

Of course the poem also speaks of storytelling, and the two characters in the poem have a conversation. So the material supports voice more than silence :-\ Lovers on a Park Bench by Samuel M. Johnson The day with its cares and perplexities is ended and the night is now upon us. The night should be a time of peace and tranquility, a time to relax and be calm. We have need of a soothing story to banish the disturbing thoughts of the day, to set at rest our troubled minds, and put at ease our ruffled spirits. And what sort of story shall we hear? Ah, it will be a familiar story, a story that is so very, very old, and yet it is so new. It is the old, old story of love. Two lovers sat on a park bench, with their bodies touching each other, holding hands in the moonlight. There was silence between them. So profound was their love for each other, they needed no words to express it. And so they sat in silence, on a park bench, with their bodies touching, holding hands in the moonlight. Finally she spoke. "Do you love me, John?" she asked. "You know I love you, darling," he replied. "I love you more than tongue can tell. You are the light of my life, my sun, moon and stars. You are my everything. Without you I have no reason for being." Again there was silence as the two lovers sat on a park bench, their bodies touching, holding hands in the moonlight. Once more she spoke. "How much do you love me, John?" she asked. He answered: "How much do I love you? Count the stars in the sky. Measure the waters of the oceans with a teaspoon. Number the grains of sand on the sea shore. Impossible, you say." "Yes and it is just as impossible for me to say how much I love you." "My love for you is higher than the heavens, deeper than Hades, and broader than the earth. It has no limits, no bounds. Everything must have an ending except my love for you." There was more of silence as the two lovers sat on a park bench with their bodies touching, holding hands in the moonlight. Once more her voice was heard. "Kiss me, John," she implored. And leaning over, he pressed his lips warmly to hers in fervent osculation.
BrassClef
Klesch and Hannum. I REALLY wish they were doing their normal tour. So sad I probably won't see them live this year :-/
Jeto
Is this the first year that Crown has had a female lead drum major?
