Imagine, say, 30 years ago... if someone said "someday there will be four Florida corps performing at DCA championships on Labor Day weekend." That person probably would have been advised to get professional help. Times, indeed, have changed!!!

Although I'm back here for family reasons... whether you're a drum corps or just a Jack Daniel's lovin' New Yorker transplanted to Florida via Las Vegas - NY has deteriorated to being the place to be from, not to live.... the amazing thing is if you look at each of these Florida corps, the number of both key management, staff and performers from NY now living in Florida is amazing... Geoff
I couldn't leave NY quick enough 8 years ago. I can't imagine it's gotten any better.

Dan Detweiler
Unfortunately, I have to concur with you all. The current economy, state tax burdens, etc. have chased many, many jobs out of what is a beautiful and wonderful state. I too left my home state of New York decades ago and it is sad when I go back to visit. I guess one state's loss is another's gain, so Florida...live the dream. Can't wait to see you all in Annapolis! Dan
