Pit_Girl_77 Posted July 1, 2013 Share Posted July 1, 2013 Thunder of Drums The line-up for tonight's Thunder of Drums show: Pre-show (high school marching bands): Stabekk, Norway School Band St. Peter Saints Marching Band Mankato 77 Lancers Marching Band Drum Corps: Govenaires Minnesota Brass Colts Blue Stars Troopers Crossmen Madison Scouts The weather is expected to be perfect! I am going to attempt to tweet during the show using my not-so-smart-phone, anyone feel free to repost stuff here from that @pit_girl77 (Look at my signature for bias-lol) The Mankato stadium (Minnesota State University) is great for drum corps, really steep stands, the front row is about 10 feet up from the field, and no track so the sound is really in-your-face. I have seen lots of drum majors conduct from the stands instead of a podium because the pit is so close. The lot with most the corps buses is just east of the stadium, with most fans parking just east of that and getting to walk through warm-ups. For those of you that have been to the stadium, the 2 large dorm towers to the west of the stadium got impoded on Saturday to make way for new ones.
