In true Scouts fashion I imagine they responded this way to that guard judge. They saw the number, rolled their eyes, put the tape under the rear wheel of the bus, and pulled out of the lot.

Unfortunately, DCI judge recordings are stored on a cloud. You could copy them to a flash drive and then run it over, but it's not as gratifying.

I miss the days of tapes. There used to be some pretty creative destruction :-)

Folks, relax. Anything can happen. For example:

(From 1989)

7/2

Philadelphia, PA

Cadets 76.9 1

Bluecoats 71.7 2

Crossmen 63.7 3

Suncoast Sound 53.1 4

Florida Wave 52.1 5

8/18

Kansas City, MO

Open Class Semi-Finals

1 Vanguard 98.2

2 Phantom 96.9

3 Cavaliers 94.8

4 Blue Devils 94.6

5 Cadets 94.4

6 Star of Indiana 93.3

7 Madison Scouts 92.9

8 Bluecoats 90.3

9 Suncoast Sound 90.2

10 Freelancers 87.4

11 Velvet Knights 86.3

12 Crossmen 85.8

That's more than a 10 point gap that turned into a 4.5 point swing the other way.

Or, how 'bout this:

Sunday June 28, 1987

West Chester PA

Position Corps Score

1 Spirit of Atlanta 77.000

2 Garfield Cadets 74.900

3 Suncoast Sound 70.300

4 Dutch Boy 63.400

5 Florida Wave 62.200

6 Crossmen 53.600

7 Malden Diplomats 47.200

8 St. Francis Xavier Sancians 39.800

World Class Finals

Position Corps Score

1 Garfield Cadets 97.900

2 Santa Clara Vanguard 97.800

3 Cavaliers 94.700

4 Blue Devils 94.400

5 Phantom Regiment 94.300

6 Madison Scouts 90.400

7 Star of Indiana 90.000

7 Velvet Knights 90.000

9 Suncoast Sound 88.800

10 Spirit of Atlanta 87.600

11 Bluecoats 85.700

12 Sky Ryders 81.900

The Suncoast sound example from 1989 was EXACTLY what I was thinking about the other day about some of these scores; especially the Cavalier's scores this year. That was a very rough year for them, but they worked their tails off and broke 90! That was a great accomplishment!

I also forgot about Spirit and The Cadets in 1987

I just look at people's posts on here and laugh when they predict some of the silly things that they do. Anything can happen in a season and many things have already happened, so there's precedent.

Transcribe and burn would be fun but would take too much effort (or could be good busy work for the back field drum major).
